Heard from a very reliable source that Middlesbrough are VERY close to a deal for Nicky Maynard for £4m. Apparently Tony Mowbray only interested in players he believes can play in the premier league and is not looking for a quick fix to help boro get there. I know for a fact boro have £5m to spend and Lukewich wants a move to Southampton where he grew up.

Watford to sign Tommy Smith (QPR) and Ryo Miyaichi (Arsenal) on loan and Darius Henderson (Millwall) on a permanent deal. This also frees up Marvin Sordell to be sold, Southampton and Blackburn leading the race so far for the U21 hotshot.

Due to the collapes of an attempted takeover at Coventry city Lukas Jutkiewicz is to join southampton for £1.25million from coventry, keough to go to Bolton for £1million plus sell on fee and martin craine may be going to either Leeds or Watford for around £500,000 this as came from a person from inside the club

Southampton will complete the signing of Tadanari Lee on Thursday next week subject to an approved work permit which should be only a formality. Scouts were at the Hearts game today and last week for the Hibs derby to monitor Andrew Driver. Adkins see him as a decent winger to compete with the clubs current wingers and with Hearts in huge financial trouble he could be available at a cheap price. Lastly Adkins is considering a move for Forest midfielder Lewis McGugan who in my opinion could really add something to the side. He will be taking a closer look at McGugan next week as saints travel to Forest in the Championship.

looks like Sharpe on his way to Leicester, clubs have agreed fee and now down to terms, doubt that will be an issue for Leicster who will clearly spend what they think they have to try and win promotion.

Tadanari Lee will complete his move to Southampton next week when his work permit comes through, Lukas Jutkiewcz will also sign sooner rather then later to provide back-up for Lambert. Jason Puncheon's future is over at Southampton and he will be offered to Blackpool along with £2million for Matty Phillips. Lewis McGugan is another player Adkins is interested in but could wait till late January to make a move, depending on Richard Chaplow's fitness.

Lukas Jutkiewicz from Coventry too go too Southhampton by the end of next week as he is a life-time Southampton fan and the Saints have been after him since the summer. There main target Nicky Maynard is on his way too West Brom apparently so it makes the Juke deal even more likely.

Celtic will only allow Gary Hooper to join Southampton if they are successful in their bid to land Huddersfield Town hot-shot Jordan Rhodes.
Southampton had a £3m bid rejected by The Hoops earlier on today - whilst the Glasgow based club are expected to offer upwards of £6m for The Terriers Scotland international within the next few days.

Martin O'neil has expressed his interest in the 23 year old Celtic striker and has been forced to bring forward his meeting regarding the player after learning of Southampton's aggressive move for him. A bid has not been made yet for Hooper but expect one in coming 2 days in the region of 6.5 million for the south coast side.Sundeland will feel they have the edge wages wise in a possible battle for his services but Gary is keen to move closer to his family if he leaves Parkhead.
Celtic are secretly welcoming a big money move for their hitman , but PR wise will continue to say he is not for sale and try and pin it on Hooper wanting to leave which he doesn't....just wants a new contract in line with the high earners in squad.

Aston Villa have now joined the race for Gary Hooper of Celtic after a possible snag with insurance for loan move of Robbie Keane. Mcleish has told coaching staff around the club they need a ''fox in the box'' to which Hooper certainly is the best out there under 10 million.
Expect a bid to match Southampton's (not yet formerly bid but will happen in coming days) and again as stated earlier watch some movement from Sunderland.

Source from inside the club that Southampton had a bid of 4.5M for Gary Hooper rejected and as a result won't go over 6M as they don't want a bidding war and Hooper could want more then the 20k per week wage cap at St Mary's

Just heard that Saints are expecting to sign striker Gary Hooper from Celtic (-ex Scunthorpe) this week, also understand that Saints have obtained work permit for Lee and that he has signed.

Lee is not over here at the moment but will return to sign soon as all the paper work is complete.

Hooper speculation and interest from Southampton and now Sunderland has convinced the board they should sell at the right price...believed to be 6.75 milion pound rising to 7.5 million pounds if the south coaster's get promoted ...also a further payment could be factered in if Hooper breaks into England set-up within next 2 years.

The Celtic board have approved consideration of offers for Hooper in excess of 5 million with add ons. They have requested David Connolly become a make weight in the deal with Southampton. Connolly would relish the opportunity to finish his career at the club he has supported since a boy.

Southampton are set to swoop for Bari striker Alessandro Marotta and midfielder Massimo Donati. 25 year old striker Marotta is currently out of favour despite signing a new deal in the summer at the Italian Serie b side and is beleived to be available for around 1 million Euros, while former Celtic player Donati would cost in the region of 2.5 million Euros.

Latest news out of Celtic Park is that Gry Hooper is interested in a move to Southampton. He has said that he is willing to take the gamble on saints getting promoted, as playing his football in the EPL gives him a much better chance of breaking into the national side than playing in scotland. However ... Neil Lennon is going to be parting with his hitman easily and will only except a 'knockout' offer. Cortese is a shrewed businessman and this may be a stubbling block for Southampton

Southampton made their first bid for Hooper today , deluded Celtic fans that think your board do not need the money need to start paying attention. Celtic did not make the Champions league group stages and cost the club vital money that was expected. Stokes and Samaras are thought be strong enough to continue the winning form with a back up striker to be loaned in or bought from a struggling Premiership side.

I think something similar was said about Jutciewicz in tersm of about to sign and looks like will sign for boro, which is what I have been saying all along. Will beleive it if/when we see something on OS site.

According to other websites,Saints web & not606,Sky reporting Saints have bid £6 million for hooper,had sky on but not seen it myself.Its also on the talk Celtic forum under transfer rumours.

Not sure that NC will like our business being public knowledge if this is in fact true.

Think Sky just pick up on the various fans boards and then repeat the ones they like. Then if on sky everyone believe's is true. May well be his agent though looking to get a premership club to come in and match the bid. Would think though if willing to spend that amount a bid of £4.5 for Rhodes might tempt Huddersfield, could give them Forte and Holmes in return
