Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
I noticed in his after debut match speech Saeijs said we were aiming to reach midtable this season. Interestingly he then said we would be aiming for the promotion places next season if we could add another one or two players. Very promising.
Denneboom
You will probably have read this on the other site but for those who haven't here is the latest news on this rumour.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romano_Denneboom
http://fctwente.blog.nl/transfers/2009/01/26/rukavytsya-tekent-bij-twente-denneboom-nog-niet-naar-southhampton
It says that Denneboom wants to continue his career in England and is unhappy at the moment with this current team. Mark Wotte is keen to get him (on loan?) but McClaren is not willing to sell him unless a susbstitute is found, in which case McClaren will allow him to leave.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
Might be a good pick as he can play up front or in midfield. His one internanational was against Lichtenstein I think. He is big though.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
See swansea are reported as wanting to buy Dyer now. I would prefer to see him on our right wing personally as it has been one of our weak positions all season.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
we don't have a right wing. i think this is the biggest single problem in the team:
it means we have less width therefore less space and easier to defend against
it means james has to cross from deep which is ineffective and easy to defend against
it means that james is often left in a two against one..... this normally means a centre mid has to come to cover which opens up space in the middle to run into
i think dyer is actually quite good at tracking back and i'm sure if he returns and is played in position (not on the left wing like earlier this season) then he will be effective. we have been missing balance since the first few games when thomson was there

Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
I would actually bring him back now and play him against Swansea. I would also like to see us get a strong ball winning midfield player.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
I would most like to see us sign a RB so that James could play RM. He is about our best crosser of the ball, and having played at RB for the past few months would know what is needed of a RM to track back and help.
Rudi has put a transfer request in so it looks like he is off.
I would not be at all surprised if we actually sell Dyer to Swansea on Monday.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see BWP go somewhere. I am sure if an offer came from anyone he would be gone, as would Euell.
It looks like Kelvin will definitely be staying until the end of the season now that he has been made team captain (thank God!)
I will be very surprised if we bring anyone in.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
I agree with you about James. He could also turn out to be the best right sided midfield player we have.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
would it be worth trying our reserve right back as that would then give us the option with James as our RM.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
James is obviously more suited to right midfield for his crossing but we don't have a natural right back in the squad which is madness. I've said it mnay times before and I'll keep saying it: Gasmi, Pulis, Peckhart, Robertson, Smith but no right back.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
I see Pulis has been added to the squad for todays game. Maybe we will be able to get a glimpse of what we got him for.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
Basically Skacel is probably staying now.

Trouble is, though, will he just be dead wood, bearing in mind he asked to leave and has been left out or will he still have some part to play in this sorry shambles of a team?

Re: JANUARY TRANSFERS
Depends on his mindset. If I was him though I would want to play to advertise my wares for a prospective buyer.
