I'd like to see another strong defender. And I hope we can keep Lallana.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I would like to see a defender who can play CB or FB, a powerful midfeld player like Soares plus think AP will bring in a striker if he can. Problme is Murty and Connolly key players but injury prone.
Think he will look to off load Gillett, Pulis, Lancashire and Thomson plus Saga if we can get anyone to take him if not think they will pay him up and just cut the losses.
Be inetresting to see what happens with trotman, Preston looked like they might want back but short of money. Had a couple of dodgy games but has potential. AP singing Perry's praises so may be prepapring to lose Trotman or try and offer less, (Dont care what AP says Perry was poor at Northampton)
Dont really know any players in the lower leagues but Hammond, Lambert, Harding didnt really know but good signings so trust their judgement

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Yeah, so far most of AP's signings have been good to very good (as in the case of Lambert, Hammond and Connolly).

Agreed, plus Harding, Jaidi and Murty (if he can stay fit) seem very good too.
Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I have my doubts about harding after his last few games. He has settled into the jobwell enough but I am how much more he can offer. He has a habit of allowing wingers too much room though he does now have a team around him that helps cover. Murty is much better but injuey prone. Jaidi has the sture of a collosus. He is immense but still has lapses and gets caught out of position sometimes. Long balls he will eat up but a tricky little forward causes him some discomfort.
Overall AP has done well so far. He has stated this week that he will be getting in some new blood so i expect a few to leave as well.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I think AP will look to clear quite a few out in the widnow if he can get any takers. Problem is you dont always get good players available in the January window so I can see maybe 1 or 2 signings plus a loan. Accept Harding hasnt been great lately but hasnt been that bad and none of the defence get much cover from midfield. No cover though if he gets injured
Mind you watched Coventry on sky today, Best, Eastwood and Morrision played for them, all three awful and glad not with us. Also saw Bale play 2nd half for spurs and he's gone backwards in my view since he left us, no one coaching him on how to defend

See Doncaster want to sign Gillet permanently in January so that will be one out, good luck to him as always tried.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Think he didnt get a great chance but clearly Hammond, Lallana and Scheiderlin are his preferred 3 in midfield then if you play a wide player you have Antonio or Waigo and also Wotton, James and Mills. Add to that Mellis (who hasnt impressed me) and Gobern and simply think to many midfield players (and i have ignored Pulis and Thomson who I dont see staying)
Hard worker but first touch was poor and lack of height doesnt help in this league

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Have heard we are interested in elliott of Coventry and have first dibs on a CCC midfielder
Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
loanies plus Gillett, Thomas, Pulis,Holmes,Thomson,Saga,White,Saville,Boyle and even goburn, lancashire plus more we may hear about.
Melis and Trotman back to their clubs.
Still strong rumours concerning Ben thatcher and David Prutton coming in on short term deals. It really does look as though we have decided to go for the prize full throttle.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Murty's out for six weeks with an ankle injury so a right back is a must.
The January transfer window's going to be exciting because the club have decided to go for it and see if we can get promoted this season and Markus Liebherr's making money available for new players, according to Radio Solent this morning. Exciting times lie ahead.

This is typical saints. We can't do anything normally. As the Small Faces sang It's All Or Nothing. Edge of seat stuff looks a certainty. I agree PU that RB is a must.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Dont want Prutton back, big disappointment when he was here and have never forgiven him for dumb shove on official which meant he missed 10 games, selfish player who wouldnt fit in with the rest.
Think he will keep hold of Gobern and White for now, if he lets Thomas go and think he cant rate him or he would be playing and Trotman goes back to Preston then CB essential. I think he may well and try and sign Trotman as one for the future (thomas to Preston?).

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I think Thomas' contract runs out next month. Don't know what he is doing with trotman. The boy looked as though he could make it as a good CB. Pace and once errors cut out re positioning he would be very very useful. RB is an essential part that needs a new player. Still think we could do with a strong more mobile player than Wotton as cover. Also a wide player that can actually use pace and skill to get to the byeline and whip some potent crosses in.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Extend Antonio's loan then persuade Trots to stay on, if he doesn't then another defender in and make it permanent.
Maybe a Defensive Midfielder but definitely one more striker because if Lambert gets injured we're screwed!
Also a winger on loan and reject any offers for any first-teamers (Lallana, Spiderman etc).

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
I understand that both Plymouth and Watford are very shaky on finances, so there may be someone we can pick up from them. After all, the vultures circled around us this time last year.
I agree that some of the fringe players will almost certainly go. Those have all been mentioned above.
I hope we can keep Trotman. OK, he has been a little off the boil recently, but overall I think has done great work for us and I would like to his move here made permanent. I am also a fan of Harding; he has given us something on the left that has been lacking since Gareth Bale left us. (Incidentally, I understand Burnley are talking about taking him, that’s Bale, on loan. And speaking of ex-Saints, I see that Beattie may well be on his way back to Blackburn in January).

Still rumours going around about Thatcher and might be wishful thinking but Blackstock name has been mentioned by a couple of fans. Suspect will be a couple of loan signings. Not sure if any Pymouth players we would want, they look like they are coming down

Harding I find as a hard working player but not one to risk everything on. Right now he will do but when we go up I have serious doubts as to whether he would cope.

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Harding started off well then had a bad bit of form like Trotman after a poor game Vs Brighton.
However, against Tranmere he was fantastic and the AHrding we like to see.
I don't think molyneux is good cover for him- cause he's SHI*E

Re: JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
Harding has been great, our first proper left back for ages and he can attack and defend. Mills still has a lot of potential as a left back so need to have Molyneux anywhere near the team. Blackstock could be a good signing if Connolly cannot keep fit. Would probably keep Trotman if possible but not Antonio. Papa Waigo is simply much better. No to Ben Thatcher.
