WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Firstly, Mark Hughes. Do you think those in power at St Mary's (who certainly make weird decisions quite often) will decide to give Hughes a new contract? And do you think Hughes would want to stay?? Most importantly, if Hughes stays, I hope he insists on having a say on transfers.
Secondly, which players from the first team squad do you think will be transferred out? I have a feeling that Bertrand, Boufal and possibly Soares will be gone by next season. I can't see Carrillo becoming a useful Premier League player and would like to see him go, but I imagine the club will decide to give him another season to 'try to adjust'.

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Well I am pretty certain Hughes would love to stay and unless they already have someone else lined up suspect will get a further 2 years, surprised if they offer anything longer.
Happy he has some input on transfers but not to much, he made some poor buys at Stoke on players that looked good on paper but clearly not team players that ended up causing friction.
I would expect the following go
Forster, suspect will be a loan as no one will pay money for him
Cedric not had a great season and think will move to Spain
Pied surplus to requirements maybe Puel will take him up to Leicster
Bertrand looks like he has wanted out all season, may stay if likes Hughes but I would sell and give Targett his opportunity.
Redmond doesn't matter who is the manager he doesn't have pace or trickery for a wide player and scores to few goals, would give Simms the chance.
Carillo never looked like a premiership player with his CV and one of those crazy Transfer window signings. Give his space to Gallagher
Boufal far to inconsistent and attitude problem, talented yes but not a team player.
Not sure if Gabbadini and Lemina will want out but think worth if we can keep them another season
So 7 out but 3 could be replaced by youngsters at the club. Also need in at least 1 RB, 1 dominant CB, 1 Striker with pace, and Goalie as back up to McCarthy

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
I've seen nothing about it for ages......but are Saints still trying to sign Promes after it failed to get done at the end of January?
Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Regarding Promes, this is a couple of weeks old Mike

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
I doubt Reed and Kruger will be doing anything about spending money, no doubt will leave to the last minute so they can hope everyone else has signed anyone decent then they can say no one that they want and we already have a good squad.
The lack of information from the club at the moment I find really arrogant and shows the contempt they have for the fans. Keep seeing messages on Twitter from the club, about signing up for your renewal of season tickets. If Reed is staying and we end up bringing in an unknown manager, beginning to think there is an issue over Hughes (like he has told Reed he doesn't want interference) then I am not renewing. I have until 22 June and will leave to the last minute before deciding

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Well at least confirmed that Hughes has a 3 year contract. Not his biggest fan but do think he is the type of manager at this point in time we probably need to steady the ship. Should at least sort out the fitness levels and in the past where Lemina, Boufal, Tadic, Redmond and Bertrand have all had temper tantrums with the manager, and seem to have won, that is unlikely to happen with Hughes and expect Boufal to go back to France if we get a decent (£10m upwards) for him

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
I see that there are many rumours of a number of clubs wanting McCarthy. Still, no worry, one of them is Spurs....and maybe they'll let us have Gazzaniga back in exchange!?!?!
Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Yeah I agree in regard to Boufal. He is flashy but seems to be more of a show pony and a bit lightweight also. Despite a couple of spectacular goals, he has been disappointing.
A few more will be off as well, no doubt.

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Would be surprised do see McCarthy go, he has made the No 1 spot his, something that wont happen at likes of Liverpool, Spurs etc, though we need to sort out his contract as 1 year to go and no doubt he will be looking for more money and think he has earnt that, a steady consistent goalie, not world class, but well better than Fraser.

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Probably not that bad depending on whether he is replaced with a younger , harder working version. Certainly in the last few games he showed what he is still capable of but for most of the season under performed. While £15m is not huge amount when you think £25m for untried kid from Norwich, probably doubt would get much more for a 30 year old who has had a few god games in last season.
Looks like Armstrong from Celtic heading in but think he is probably a replacement for Davies who I could see going to Glasgow signing for Rangers

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
The Santos interest seems a bit odd, not 6 foot so not great for a CH, supposedly not great in the air but can pass well so unless he is seen as a challenger to Romeau don't see better than what we already have plus it had seemed Gibson was done and dusted. Unless Everton have come in and out bid us on Gibson having decided Santos not good enough

Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
I see Saints have been made favourites to sign Danny Ings. Would be nice to see that happen
Re: WILL HE STAY OR WILL HE GO?
Not sure about Ings because of his injury, would certainly be a gamble with Austin as well in the squad.
