Re: KOEMAN GONE
Still don't see the need to do so quickly, could have kept for first half of season, he would have got European football then sell in Jan window, which would coincide with African nations cup, impact on fee would not be great, we gain points on the pitch. Still plonker Reed know best.
Worst fear is he brings in hodgeson as director of football, except that is Reed' unofficial title

Re: KOEMAN GONE
On Sky, they are saying that the club have been getting advice about the manager appointment from Arsene Wenger!!! I'm surprised Reed feels he needs advice from anyone......
Re: KOEMAN GONE
An interesting, and slightly worrying, read......

If this is true I guess it is because of the previous Wenger/Puel connection.....
'Puel has a close ally in Arsenal's Arsene Wenger, for whom he worked closely with at Monaco as a player and coach, and he will likely call upon him as he settles in at St Mary's.'
I wonder how much influence Wenger had in the appointment decision. Maybe, if by the time we meet Arsenal we are having a tough time, Wenger will encourage his team to go easy on us!!!
Re: KOEMAN GONE
Well time will tell if this turns out to be a good decision or not. Have to admit not convinced he will be strong enough and his first video is hardly that inspiring. Overall think been handled badly by the club, other better managers were available but think they have mis handled most of the way

Re: KOEMAN GONE
See the title is still valid, just gone from Everton! I still think he is a good manager, just brought in too many players and needs to find the balance, bit like Pellegrino at saints except not so many new faces.
Their problem was selling Lukaku and not replacing, he has carried Everton in recent years so naïve to think his going would not be massive, and Rooney is well past his sell by date. Be interesting to see if West Ham go for Koeman, Bilic has 2 games supposedly

Re: KOEMAN GONE
I guess compensation of probably around £9m may make him think still not a bad deal and even if West Ham doesn't come up can spend a few months going to games, memories fade and no doubt he will be in a job within 6-7 months

Re: KOEMAN GONE
I suppose he has burned his bridges as far as Saints are concerned.....otherwise maybe he'd have come back if Grino doesn't succeed.
Re: KOEMAN GONE
Don't see him back at saints, he does want to spend and he and Reed don't get on so while Reed is here never going to happen, I can see him going abroad and he could probably walk into the Holland job. Though that wont help his ambition to manage Barcelona, and sure his ego is such that he sees that as a perfect job form him. One thing you can be= certain he will be back in a job fairly soon, if he wants one
