The Saints curse revealed By Ernest Hack

Southampton may well be considered underachievers, but on current form we at least have one consolation: at least we’re not Tottenham. Since moving to the North London club, the career of Saints Academy product Gareth Bale has come on leaps and bounds. He has played regular first team football in both the Premiership and the Uefa Cup. However, despite some impressive performances, he has not helped Spurs to many, actually any, impressive results.
Just take a look at Tottenham’s record with and without the youngster in their team:
With Bale - Played 15, Won 0, Drawn 6, Lost 9. For 19, Against 30. Points 6
Without Bale - Played 32, Won 11, Drawn 9, Lost 12. For 53, Against 45. Points 42
Nigel Brown, journalist for Sport.co.uk who calculated these statistics even claimed that “Gareth Bale has become Tottenham’s jinx player.” It may be just coincidence, but given Spurs’ recent peril, the suspension of Bale might even be seen as a blessing in disguise.
Anyone who has seen the young Welshman play in the last year and a half will realise that his development has been significant, much like other Saints products. Need I mention Theo Walcott? Oops, it seems I just did, not that Spurs fans will thank me for reminding them that their local rivals are doing significantly better these days.
A familiar story, eh?
Surely it will only be a matter of time before Tottenham turn themselves around. But until that moment, the example of Gareth Bale could well be used by Poortvliet as a useful balance to the example of Walcott. The Dutch coach has admitted that he uses Theo as an inspiration to our youngsters for what could happen to them. Perhaps he could now show them Bale’s Spurs record as a way of keeping them with us for a little longer, until they are fully ready?
Is it in the best interest of our youngsters to move on, or to stay for a while and lead the Saints up and away?

Perhaps we could bring him back on loan to Bale(intended) Spurs out. So long as they help with the wages.

We got a new bath fitted when landlord had house refurbished. It has a large crack glued together. Landlord is a cheapskate. Must support the other lot.

That's no good! Well, if it leaks, it'll cost him a lot more to rectify. What a tight wad!

Saw the Spurs Liverpool game and Bale was good going forward but made some poor decisions when defending. Overall though he did ok.
