Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
Wonder whether Gardos or Long.....or anyone else..... will be signed in time to be considered for Sunday's squad?
Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
Might be in the squad, Long probably better chance of playing even if as sub as will have been training with Hull, don't think Gardos has done much training as was injured .

Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
I've a feeling FF will be determined to start with a clean sheet and I fancy we could spring a surprise/shock.....maybe a 0-2 win! Hope that is not just wishful thinking.
Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
I like your positivity Mike. It would indeed be nice to beat Liverpool after the transfer raids.

Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
well a bit unlucky, didn't play to bad but will need to get a bit more ruthless.
Thinking about it of the 7 players we bought in 6 are decent and Tadic does look a good player and once we can get Gardos fit that should tighten up the back.

Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
Just watched the Sky recording.......thought we were worth at least a point, and maybe all three.
Some thoughts.....
1. Pleased, happy and relieved to see Schneiderlin's performance. Was unlucky not to score twice.
2. Wanyama had one of his better games.
3. Tadic looked a good buy.
4. Clyne looked good going forward but thought he could have been tighter defensively.
5. Bertrand was very promising.
6. Good debut as captain by Fonte.
7. Steve Davis was not up to his usual standard.
8. Forster had a welcome air of confidence.
9. Maya was weakest link in defence.......but has played much worse.
10. JWP looked sharper and gave his best performance for a long long time.
11. Where the hell was Pelle? I don't remember him doing much at all.
12. Trouble with Boruc? Kelvin on the bench.
13. Gaston didn't even make the bench.
MY ARMCHAIR RATINGS
Forster 7
Clyne 7
Fonte 8
Maya 6
Bertrand 7
Schneiderlin 9
Wanyama 7
Davis 6
Ward-Prowse 9
Tadic 8
Pelle 5
Long 6
Isgrove 6

Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
Pretty good assessment, thought Davis should have scored plus he made a weak challenge in the build up to the second goal. Don't think Isgrove is worth getting on before Cork but shows our lack of attacking options, I am assuming Gallagher is still injured.
Will be nervous until Gardos is fit and a defender/midfielder who can also play CH wouldn't be bad to have in the squad but really would want a striker even if just a loan deal, think Guidetti from City would be worth a punt.

Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
It seems Ron wants Townsend but can't see Spurs letting us have him.....unless we change our attitude on Schneiderlin. Think I'd like to see Gnaby on loan from Arsenal, which might leave funds for us to get Van Dijk from Celtic. I see Rojo is pretty sure to be going to Man United.
Re: AWAY TO LIVERPOOL......
don't give in to Spuds on schneiderlin, surprised we made a bid for Townsend as almost giving them an option to get Schneiderlin who was our best player last year and if has another good season and no reason why not we should be able to get £25 -30m, yes silly money but we don't need to sell.
Gnarby on loan, again why the clowns didn't make conditional on Chambers sale I have no idea, and possibly a striker with the cash surplus they have.
Fear is Cork Schneiderlin, Ramerez, and Boruc could still all be sold in my view in last week. Now season ha started and looked okay at Liverpool can see them thinking can rake in more cash and get away with it.
By the way on hols from tomorrow for couple of weeks so might not be on much, depends on wif fi connection. son is going to WBA game back for Newcastle game.
