3-0. Shaw gave away a penalty. Thanks a bunch Saints. I feel sorry for the Saints fans who paid to witness that shit.
Piss off Nigel.

Re: A LITTLE MATTER OF THE LEAGUE CUP.......
Shame as he is going down without a fight, trying to stick to principles all the time, play the right way, play the youngsters when there are times when you just have to guts it out.
For me Hoddle would be the choice, not a great fan of him as a person but has tactical nous and has experience at the top level as well as being arrogant enough to do it his way and not what Cortese or Reed may want. Think Adkins could be gone by week end

Re: A LITTLE MATTER OF THE LEAGUE CUP.......
Agreed about Hoddle. Adkins has lost it, he needs to go. Pity, as he's a nice guy and has done brilliantly over the past couple of season but he's out of his depth now and to put out a team like that in a cup and lose without even a shot on goal is unacceptable imo. Shades of 2004/05 here.
And anyone who says that 'you're not a Saints fan' if you want Adkins out (as I've just heard a Tweet read out) is talking out of their backside.

On a happier note, Reading have just thrown away a 4-0 lead and are losing 5-4 in extra time.

Oh dear.....
Only heard snippets on Sky but it seemed terrible. They said several times that Leeds looked like the Premiership side and Saints couldn't string 2 passes together.

Apparently Robbie Fowler said it was the worst performance from a supposedly Premier League side he'd ever seen (notwithstanding it was a completely different team). Second 11 or not, last night was an embarrassment and the fans who went were badly let down, as that LUFC article says.

Re: A LITTLE MATTER OF THE LEAGUE CUP.......
Its the lack of fight from players you would think would want to stake a claim. Seaborne, Butterfield, Hoovieldt, Guly, Chaplow (though supposed to have had an ok game) De Ridder, Lee, Mayuka. Sounds like the need for a big clear out to get rid of the negative attitude, if not willing to fight for a place in the starting 11 show them the door and no more messing around like Dickson, cut your losses and get rid as will have a destabilising affect on the rest of the squad. Then bring in 2 or 3 who show they are willing to fight for a place.

I agree. These people have had their chance and they should be got rid of in the next window. Probably with the exception of Mayuka and Lee; Mayuka has not had much of a chance and Lee's been unlucky with injuries (that said, I had heard rumours that Lee's attitude is pretty poor, which is probably why he's not figured despite being fit).
On a lighter note, how did he miss that?
