THE WOES OF POMPEY
Although I am a lifelong Saints supporter I believe it would be a sad day if Pompey go under. Show you care (just a little bit) by joining my new Saints Fans Supporting Pompey Group (on Facebook).... https://www.facebook.com/groups/329262597163257/

Mike
although dont really want them to go under dont think I can bring myself to sign a site supporting them as the club has been run by crooks for years and still trying to cheat their way out of their debts.
I also believe some of this recent stuff about them going into liquidation in a couple of weeks is simply a negotiating ploy to force the high wage earners to agree a compromise to free up the PL parachute payments to fund new contracts. If no money then how come Howard, Gillett, McLeod along with others all on spanish pre tour and seem on a decent promise so waiting for an offer. All could easily get into other Div 1 sides and have turned down offers so must be being offerred something that is financially attractive.
Sorry but they never learn and liquidation may be better in the long run for them as would mean they really would sort out their finances once and for all.

Re: THE WOES OF POMPEY
I don't particularly want them to be liquidated but, on the other hand, I'll be honest and say that I couldn't give a rat's backside if they were. If they went under and a phoenix club run by fans rose from the ashes, starting again at Moneyfields or another local ground there, then I wish them the best of luck. The current shambles, though, would be no loss. If they'd sorted themselves out in 2010 then I might have a modicum of sympathy for them, but they didn't. They got involved with yet more crooks, this time crooks who asset-stripped a bank, and the club still spent beyond their means, outbidding other clubs for players that they could not afford. No sympathies from me.

Re: THE WOES OF POMPEY
Looks like their 10 points are coming off this season. What kind of punishment is that, considering they're relegated anyway?
That said, they're probably completely phuqued anyway, as I can't see the PST being able to afford to run the club and I can see them remaining at L1/L2 level for years to come.

Re: THE WOES OF POMPEY
I really despair with the FL and the way they manipulate the rules to suit themselves, their own rules should have meant the points come off next season as have had no impact on their position. think the same happened when they were relegated from premiership so 2 administrations and £150 million stolen from creditors and no effective points deduction. No wonder few outside of football have any time for the game.
Still I agree that the PST will quickly fall into disarray, they could only actually raise about £1.5m the rest has been made up of loans from the council, secured against parachute payment, using the Parachute payments to pay creditors and a few individuals who supposedly put more in who will effectively "own" the club and bet it is sold in less than 18 months with the rest of the fans getting nothing.
When it all goes pear shape, as no doubt it will, then will be quite ironic that final nail in the coffin will be with their "pack the park" fans, which they failed miserably to do, being in charge
