Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
I have been onto a Leeds forum and started a thread about Saturday's match trying to encourage them to come on here. Unfortunately it has not worked yet as none of them have posted here. However, a few of them have responded to my message on their forum and I am pleased to say that they have been perfectly polite....I have seen none of the abuse I've received on other forums.
Here are some of their messages....
Lossie says:
To be fair, I think you're doing great......same as us when we had points deducted.....we're relying on you to take points off our rivals, in the hope that you'll not be a threat to us ( no offence ).
You'd definitely be up there as contenders otherwise.
LeedsForever says:
As we saw when we had points deducted, the christmas period really can take it out of you. it's a long season, and when you start to be noticed, people up their games to "put you back in your place".
This season is going to get harder for ye saints. though, I'm enjoying watching you prove that you are better than a lot in League 1. hope you make the playoffs. and take points off all the other top 6 (bar us, of course)
p.s. would you like david prutton back! you can have him for a song. say, maybe, a straight swap for lambert?
Mark.....lufc says:
Good Luck with the site pal & hope you do ok in the league (except for this w/end mind !!) no offence but yeah 2nd or 3rd place be great for you as long as we are 'Champions'...
See ya' at Wembley, Maybe ....
Moodyblue says:
I remember many a match at the Dell in the 80's when you had the likes of Channon, Golac etc.....let's face it the pair of us belong in the Premier league.
I think you'll give us a good run out on saturday and if we don't pick the game up then i am sure you are more than capable of punishing us but i still think we'll beat you.

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Alrite Saint Mike, looks like i am the first then. Good luck for the rest of season, but not saturday, ahem.
Was down your neck of the woods in july, travelled all the way back up to Inverness with a saints fan, brilliant bloke, had a good natter about football, points deductions etc.
Nice site BTW
Cheers

Amen to that!
Hows the weather with you? The game will be on?
Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Not sure of the weather in Leeds, i am in the the far NW of Scotland. I originate from leeds but work up here. Snowing here at the moment tho. Game should be on i would think. Haven't heard anything different.

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Will be a tough game and Beckford is going to be real threat with his movement. Still as we proved Tuesday we are resilient now and can win games even when not playing that well. Not sure if Connolly is fit for tomorrow but he makes a big difference as teams have to be wary about over committing in attack with the threat they pose. Really hope Thomas starts at RB, James in midfield and Jaidi should start having been rested midweek.
Going to go for score draw, no way we will keep a clean sheet!!
As for kind offer by Leeds fan to take Prutton back thanks but no thanks, never rated him when he was here. He always thought he was better than he was. Still we can swap strikers in Transfer window, we'll take Beckford and Leeds can have our Polish International Sagnowski. Come to think of it you can just have him!

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Should have added hope its a Saints v Leeds final in the JPT. Will be great to see Wembley packed with genuine fans, a good game of football with two teams going out to win and both sets of fans can stick two fingers up to Lord Haw Haw and his football league cronies.

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Couldn't agree more re paint pot trophy, Mawhinney is muched loved down our way...not. Should be a good crowd this saturday, hope you all have a safe journey due to weather. How many do you reckon you will bring with you? Bring yer earmuffs for the ER roar. Should be a good atmosphere, not many of them in this league. Our fans seem to outnumber most home fans in this league, think thats why the powers want to keep us here...to boost coffers.
Anyways enjoy the game, but not too much.
My prediction - close one but 2-1 Leeds att - 29677

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
Its unfortunate game is just before christmas and think will probably only have about 1600 there, would have been more if later in season and have been taking between 2000 - 3000 most Saturday away games. Yet another good fixture match by the league computer!!

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
This is going to be an interesting game, as we'll see how far Saints have progressed. We seem to have passed other 'tests' so far this season and I'm confident we'll get something from it, probably a draw. A draw'll do me, as long at we don't concede a last-minute sickener.

Underway. Radio Solent sound is bloody awful, very muffled and the mic's up too much on the crowd with Dave M and Adam B a bit drowned out.

Re: A RESULT AT ELLAND ROAD?
How come Richard Naylor gets away without a yellow for a foul on Lambert, yet Lallana gets booked for the same thing? Stupid ref. Talk about inconsistent.

Twice now Naylor has crudely foulled Lallana with no booking.
