Yes we can and I think we need to if we are going to continue climbing away from the drop zone.

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
Saints crossing from too deep. If it stays like this and we can't make some chances then AP must bring on Papa or Antonio at HT

More dodgy defending. Saints looking vulnerable on counter attack

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
Is it me, or have we been dodgy since abandoning 4-5-1 for 4-4-2? Our defence is woeful. Hartlepool are dangerous on the break and we are being cut to shreds, it's embarrassing. No offence to H/pool but we should be doing a lot better against teams like them.

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
Still woeful from Saints. A corner from James turned into an attack for Hartlepool. I think we are waking up slightly though.

And with all due respect to you, if you had the ten deducted points back - you would STILL be level with us (on Points)

The problem is that there is a hole between the midfield and defence which is exposed when we attack making us vulnerable on the counter. Jaidi and Trotman don't want to push up too far because they will be caught out by the long ball over the top but when there is too much space in front of them it allows their players to run at our defence which causes us problems. When we were playing the 4-5-1 Wotton filled the hole and allowed Hammond and Schneiderlin to get forward freely. But putting Wotton back in would mean dropping Connolly which is hard with his current form.

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
@ Butcher's Block: We had a bad start, with or without the ten points, and we did not have the players we do now. With the players we have got there is no excuse for woeful performances and, again with all due respect, we should hope to beat the majority of the teams we are playing here in L1. Including yourselves.

Check our stats, we by no stretch of the imagination shot out of the blocks.
Anyway thanks for the response, and today, apart all the best for the rest of the season and I hope you do get out of this league.

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
According to Solent, the Saints players were less than organised when it came to catching their flight: Lambert forgot his passport/photo ID and had to go home for it, Harding forgot his mobile phone and had to get his g/f to bring it to the airport and Trotman was a bag of nerves for the entire flight due to the bumpy conditions.

Re: HARTLEPOOL ON TUESDAY
Half time. 1-1. That was a pretty awful first half as regards Saints' poor play, although they did improve slightly towards the end of the half. AP needs to sort out that defence - STILL no clean sheet, it's getting beyond a joke now.

Yeah. They're just as disorganised on the pitch by the sounds of things, too.
I hope AP can switch things round and give them a rollicking and we get a much better second half. There is no reason why we should not win this, but only if we can learn to cope with the weather conditions (the strong winds are playing havoc) and Hartlepool's counter attacks which are pretty lethal by the sounds of it. Jaidi has had a couple of iffy moments, he needs to pull himself together.

Butcher's Block, if you're still here, can you tell me why Hartlepool are known as the 'Monkey Hangers'? Thanks.
