AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: YEOVIL Empty AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: YEOVIL

Post  SaintMike Sat 19 Sep 2009, 12:00 am

At the end of each month I intend to hold a poll to vote on members' posts commenting on Saints' League and Cup matches. Please get in the habit of giving us a detailed post after each match saying what you thought of the performance, who played best, who didn't, who should have been playing, what you would have done if you were manager etc., etc.
It doesn't matter if you weren't there.....you can still say what you think.

If you are impressed by a particular member's post please let me know so that I will be sure to include the post in the poll.

Your analysis of Saints-Yeovil should go on this thread please. There is a separate thread in the Amusement Section's Competition League where the table showing the points gained for the analysis will be shown.

We got the win but still need to create a lot more from open play,

Thank Gawd for that. Much overdue. I'll take any win, no matter how it comes, but I agree with Teamsaint, we need to create more from open play. If it weren't for the (lucky?!) penalties then we'd have been there until midnight and still not scored.

But I don't want to complain, not when we have got the three points and nearly cleared that deficit.

Would agree with you markings though thought Lallana was better than James. Jaidi was good, kept it simple and looked very assured.

Today we left the ground happier than we have been for a long long time.

Davis 7 Did well coming out for corners.
Thomas 6 Steady
Harding 6 Reliable
Jaidi 7 Did well and used his knowledge to help the other defenders.
Trotman 7 Did well as usual. Could be a good foil for Jaidhi
James 5 Poor
Hammond 8 My MOM as he was everywhere and gave us some muscle in midfield
Schneiderlin 6 Best game for a while and looks to be coming to terms with the league.
Lallana 6 Should never be allowed to take another corner/free kick. Did make a few tackles.
Lambert 8 Excellent game and nearly MOM. Led the line really well.
Saga 6 Lack of match fitnrss showed at times but actually seemed to be trying. Could do well if he can be kept happy.

Papa came on and immediately gave the game a lift. Needs to adapt but promising start. 7
Mills looked at home as soon as he came on. 7
Wotton even made one racing sliding tackle that brought us to our feet 6

Eveb though we still need improvement to show I was happy with the effort shown in the main.

AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: YEOVIL Empty Re: AFTER-MATCH ANALYSIS: YEOVIL

Not sure what happend to my last report but will try again. Might not have been a great performance but were due some luck with penalties, I still remember the 2 stone wall penalties against Birmingham not given. While we may not have been that fluid did control the game and Yeovil didnt really look like scoring. My view of players

Davies 7 pretty confident handling
Harding 6 solid but didnt offer a threat today
Trotman 6 make a couple of mistakes but still learning
Jaidi 7 made the game look simple, could be a massive siging iwth his presence
Thomas 6 again a couple of errors but was carrying an injury
Sneiderlin 6 Flashes of good play alongside times when doesnt seem to care
Hammond 8 Was all over the park and close to my mom
Lallana 6 so frustrating as could be our best player, still higher work rate than James or Sneiderlin
James 4 thought he was poor, no tackles in midfield and crosses the ball far to early to play out wide. seems to be short of confidence.
Saganoski 5 no shots in 70 minutes says it all for me.
Lambert 8 my MOM may have been penalties but still put away MLT style. Worked his socks of winning flick ons. A decent striker alongside and we would have romped home.

Mills 7 Some good deliveries with his left foot and took some corners away from Lallana!!
Waigo 7 Going to be hit or miss but made things happen whern he got on the ball
Wotton 7 Not the most popular but did a good job when he came on winning the ball and making simple passes to team mates.

Happy to be enjoying a win and with out doubt the squad is looking much stronger. String a few wins together and can start climbing up the table. Smile
