YOUR BEST SAINTS ELEVEN OF ALL TIME
Choose your 'dream-team' of past (or present) Saints players. Eleven names and you can decide the formation in which they would play, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-4 etc. Base your selection on how the players performed during their time with Saints and not with other clubs, ie. if you are considering including Alan Shearer it should be based on his performances with Saints and not Newcastle.
And then choose a second-eleven in the same way.
I shall award 2 points for each time a player appears in someone's first team and 1 point for each time a player appears in someone's second team. We should then be able to deduce who the Forum's first team would be.
No substitutes please as they would just make calculations more complicated.

Re: YOUR BEST SAINTS ELEVEN OF ALL TIME
How do you get the team to go all neat and orderly like that??
And don't forget to pick your B Team!!

Re: YOUR BEST SAINTS ELEVEN OF ALL TIME
Since I saw my first game in August 1963, I will restrict my selection to players since that time. Otherwise I would consider the likes of Bill Rawlings, Alf Ramsey, Bill Ellerington, Eric Day, Charlie Wayman, Ted Drake, Derek Reeves and others. But I only know those players by reputation.
First team
Peter Shilton
Stuart Williams
John McGrath
Dave Watson
Ivan Golac
Terry Paine
Matt Le Tissier
Alan Ball
Ron Davies
George O’Brien
Mike Channon
Second XI
Tim Flowers
Jason Dodd
Ken Monkou
Claus Lundekvam
Wayne Bridge
Stevie Williams
Chris Marsden
David Armstrong
Ted MacDougall
Alan Shearer
Martin Chivers
Blimey, could not find a place for Kevin Keegan, Peter Osgood or Jimmy Case.
