Will come up with a match report ( probably tomorrow ). Have to let the creative juices marinate a tad before I deliver on this one.
Such an impressive result deserves some applied thought, me thinks.
Come on you SAINTS!

Re: Saints v Hearts
A very impressive display. Got some good photographs in the first half before a steward ordered me to put the camera away. Not worth argueing with him even though I had permission (verbal) from the box office to take pictures so long as I didn't use flash. I will write to the club to seek clarification.
Anyhow, I don't know where the Pardue influenece is working already or whether Scottish Premier footbal isn't good, but Saints played them off the park.

An excellent result. The Pardew Effect?
I couldn't make it sadly, I've been sick the last couple of days. NOT swine flu, I hasten to add, migrane.

It certainly did it no harm. And neither did the Hawks winning the Friends Provident Trophy either!

Saints v Hearts
Yes it was a good performance by Saints. Back four looked solid and Murty lead the line well. He may not be the fastest but his posit ional sense plus leadership make him a must to sign. How long as it been since we had someone on the pitch giving instructions!! He impressed me.
Harding did okay, bit nervous first half but grew in confidence and looked good going forward in 2nd half. Again better than Moluneaux and looks a decent player for the LH side of the team. SJ worked well holding up the ball well, never going to run alot, but looked like he wants to play so hope we sort out his contract soon, even Raziak when he came on seemed up for it, must have been some agents up in the Itchen stand!
Pardew took notes all game long and no doubt enjoyed the win, 442 with some good passing nothing complicated. Works for me.
Areas where we probably need to improve is midfield where still a bit lightweight. Gillet and Mills did okay but playing both in L1 might be an issue. Wotton does the anchor role well but his distribution is poor. Up front assume Saga going as not even on bench, not surprised after Ajax game and you need 4 strikers so need at least one more plus see what happens with Raziak. 1 striker, 1 midfield ball winner (over 6ft) and 1 defender before start of season and will be fine. Rest can be sorted in January
Pardew does need his assitants in quick though, he can't do everything. Good day in all and able to wind up brother in law who is a Hearts fan!!

Re: Saints v Hearts
Good summary, Matty.
I understand that AP has spent more time on the phone than training pitch this week.
So hopefully this week might see a couple of new faces arrive at St. Mary's.

Only a friendly but great result still. Lallana's best performance for many months it seems must have been a plus for Saints.

Thanks, but I am sure that I still not loading them properly. I am going to try to get a definitive answer from the club about taking photographs. The box office are saying yes, provided I don't use flash, the stewards say no because they can.

Downloaded the pics to a site called Image Shack. Then cut the URLs onto the imgae link above. There has got to be an easier way.

I took my camera (a DSLR with a longish zoom) into the stadium for the Ajax game, no one said a word to me...
