Can't say I agree with all he says, but he makes some good points, and yes, we do need a reality check.

I agree Alf. He does make some good points but is pretty scathing about the club and supporters. As for joining the two clubs together. Forget it.

I thought the article was a load of crap. Not because it was hardly flattering - I can live with that - but because of the suggestion that Saints fans have no sense of reality. Forgive me, but since when has wanting to stop being relegation fodder each season and wanting the club to move up to be a mid table club having good cup runs been 'unrealistic'? As for the suggestion that Saints and Pompey merge - what would be his reaction be if someone suggested his team, Millwall, merged with West Ham or Fulham?

We aren't the best club in the world, by a long shot, and only the most deluded person would say that now we belong in the Premiership but to have our plight rubbed in by a smug journalist who knows sod all about football is a little too much.

No, Liddle's article was complete bollix. And so are the stupid comments below it. They didn't publish mine, probably because it was sensible. Evil or Very Mad

Can't expect them to publish anything that fails to agree totally with such one eyed blindness and ignorance

Totally agree. Liddle knows sod all about Saints and the fans. If he did we wouldn't have been subjected to that load of drivel.

Martin Samuels has hit the nail on the head. If the loophole had been plugged we wouldn't be trying to sail through it.
