FA Cup Third Round draw
This is where we come in. The draw's on ITV1 in a moment, the number to look out for is 35 which is Saints. I don't know about anyone else, but I would prefer that we DIDN'T get Portsmouth!

Well, it won't be the skates as they have Bristol City.

hopefully will get a good crowd
saw the last 5 minutes of histon v leeds, incredible stuff with all the players falling over every time they kicked it because the pitch was so bad.

Re: FA Cup Third Round draw
Hopefully it will be a good crowd there, some tv money (it should be on the box, I hope) and even if we do get thrashed, as is likely, the club will get some much-needed money from it.

Re: FA Cup Third Round draw
i watched the draw and at first thought "oh,sh1t!!" , then i thought "ooo, big crowd" and then i thought "well, the gate revenue is split for cup games, so the club won't really make much more money than they would from a 16,000 attendance league game......excluding catering/hospitality revenue.......what's the betting that all the hospitality boxes will be filled for this game????harvey wrote:Kerching $$$$$$$$$
i just hope that Ferguson fields a weakened side (as he often does in the cup) to leave us in with a chance..

Draw with a replay would suit.

tottaly agree dh
would hope its on the box as it would generate extra income also.
but i think even a weakened man u side would include players of outstanding quality who would walk in to any prem side
but i have been proven wrong countless times

Re: FA Cup Third Round draw
Not alone then. Mind in a perfect world we'd beat them and then get Pompey. That would fill the ground as well.

OK lets draw at St Marys, win the replay and then play Pompey. Maybe get Arsenal in the 5th, would like to see Theo again.

I suppose it means it will be televised, not a good omen.

After Utd, Pompey and Arsenal we might as well have Chelski.

They've all started squabbling over the people who don't go to games - as per usual. The same people squinnying about 'stay-aways costing the club' are now whingeing about the fact that these same people might go to the ManU game. Even my young nephews, who are five and seven years old respectively, display a more mature attitude in disputes than that lot.
At least we'll get the FA Cup out of the way early and can concentrate on the league. ;)

Re: FA Cup Third Round draw
I'm chuffed to bit's with this draw, so ok there's a very good chance that we're gonna get tonked, but there's always that possibilty that we'll do the business on the day.
Anyway it'll be a good day out and St Mary's will hopefully be full..............can't wait

Re: FA Cup Third Round draw
Sanity does reign sometimes, but not on Saintsweb. Why on earth can't these people just welcome some missing fans back and hope for a bloody good game of football. This, in the hope that some will return on a more regular basis. We all expect to get tonked(thanks Meltdown) but are allowed to dream and pray for a miracle. I know that it is unlikely but so was '76. If our team shows some form and fight, it is perfectly conceivable that we could gain support from the missing thousands. Maybe not many but a few is a step in the right direction.

Well It's something to look forward to anyway and if it is chosen for television then the club will make some extra revenue in that respect, nevertheless it should be a good day out to kick the new year off
