Yes. We are on a roll, and I don't doubt that we'll continue it and seal our promotion.

Think even though a party mood Saints will be more than capable of finishing off on a high so expect 3 points

Nigel won't let them slack off, I'm sure. I am also sure the players themselves won't want to put in a lacklustre show and, besides, the teams battling relegation will expect no less than a professional performance from Saints as will Walsall themselves.

Well as expected a professional performance by saints today. 3 - 1 but could easily have been 5 or 6. Full marks to the team for taking the game to Walsall, having been in the Weatherspoons at Ocean Village since 1130 my memory is fading slightly but a game where we had loads of chances. Went close on a couple of occassions with shots by Lambert and Connolly before Guly who nearly scored in first minute, who was looking lively first half came in on the right turned his player and shot right footed to put saints in front. With a bet on Connolly for 1st scorer was gutted. Made worse by second goal when Lambert played in Connolly who smahed in second. Hammond nearly added a third and missed the Walsall goal waiting to be served for drinks (non alcholic) but by all acoounts was a good shot from outside box.

Second half saints were a bit slow from the start and walsall began to get a bit of a grip in the game they had a couple of chances and got the ball in the net but Macken was offside. Saints then introduced Chamberlain and he nearly scored with his first touch, played in on left and great shot beat the goalie but came back off the post. Saints got the third with great goal from Chamberlain cut in from right and curled the ball into far corner of the net. Could have had further goals with Connolly, Lallana and Chamberlain or having chances. again with 33-1 on 4 -1 and 66-1 on 5 - 1 was getting frustrated that we didnt at least put one of the chances away!

Final whistle saw inevitable pitch invasion but with both set of supporters celebrating happy no likelihood of trouble. Had a drink at ground before heading back to Weatherspoons which was as busy as it was when we left for the game! Good atmosphere and anyone going out for a quiet drink were in for a shock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Davis 7 no chance with goal and solid all game
Richardson 8 will decent in champioship
Jaidi 7 solid again has had a good season
Fonte 8 class act again
Dickson 7 looked solid all game
Guly 7 great goal and certainly has the skills for next level
Hammond 7 plenty of effort.
Schneiderlin 8 Looked classy despite being out for a couple of months
Lallana 7 Good he is in england squad but think he needs a rest to get over injuries
Lambert 7 good link play
Connolly 8 busy and a threat all game.

Chaplow 7 brought some power back to midfield
Harding 7 him and dickson are a good pair to have

Well end of a long season and top marks to NA and NC to recover from our dodgy start and critically get promotion, so important we made it this season and think the squad will not need major surgery to do well at next level.

Bournemouth in play offs and would not be to disappointed if they go up as think they will struggle at next level. That said think Huddersfield deserve to go up having pushed us so hard for so long. Will be there tomorrow for the friendly, saw egil ostenstad leaving ground tonight with his family so should be a good day tomorrow

I feel a bit like I have wandered into a parallel universe. Saints won a trophy last season - I know it was 'just' the JPT, but silverware is silverware - and we got automatic promotion this season. We're not used to success...! Good, though, innit?
