Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
Unless we can find a striker quickly we could still struggle. John is the obvious choice but the question is whether he would suit our style of play. He had a good year for us last year and I would have thought he would have been an automatic choice. Who does the player you mentioned play for? Why haven't we had any dutch players mentioned?
Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
aaron maclean plays for peterborough, scored 29 goals last season. everton were trying to buy him in the summer but were told that they would have to pay 3 m. so he's out of our price range (and probably wouldn't even see us as a good career step) but he is a good example of a striker who was a bit of a hidden gem and has rose to a bit of fame.
heidar helguson has actually just joined qpr on loan but is on bolton's books at the moment and is out of the team. he is a proven goalscorer at this level for watford and even though he's not particularly tall he is amazing in the air and has a great work rate.
i think john is suited to the style of play in some ways, can see him holding the ball up for lallana, surman etc making runs past him. i think regardless of that however he will score lots of goals because you'll normally put you money on him scoring if he gets a shot in the box and he has that strikers instinct which gets him in the right place at the right time to get the goals.

Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
My ownly problem with that is the teams insistance on overplaying with the ball. I feel any striker could do a job if the midfield put some good quick balls through for them to run on to. We seem at times to want to walk the ball into the net. It strikes me as strange that after our flurry of missed penalties we don't seem to get them anymore. Are we getting into the box to slowly.
Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
agreed, there's not enough movement from the front players and i have noticed we are extremely rarely offside recently. i know bwp got some stick for seemingly always being offside, but surely its better to be offside 10 times and score twice then to be offside no times and not score at all. lallana, surman and schneiderlin are very capable of playing that killer pass, we just need the strikers to be on the same wavelength and make the run

Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
Maybe with Jamie white showing well in his loan spell he will get a proper go. If John has gone and we need someone I guess we could do worse than play Paterson and White together. Kyle Davies is also getting some good reports in the reserves and perhaps we should let him have a go. Either on loan or at the back of our team. While Perry is playing well it could be an answer.

Yep, Kelvin Davis definitely Man of the Match for me. Anyone watch the "highlights" on the Championship this morning? Kelvin Davis saves were outstanding. Pity is, they only showed first half highlights and neglected to show our chances.

Re: CHARLTON ATHLETIC Commentary
I would imagine he has passed his sell by date. On top of that do we have that much?
