Villa home
Very quiet on here now so if Pete and Mike are still using but a key game for us, not that confident, losing Redmond will hurt the balance and looks like Vlaery at RB and will be his first game in months, Not sure why Vestergard is suddenly back in favour hope Bednarek starts as he hand Stephens while not great had formed a partnership. I would actually settle for a draw but have a nasty feeling Villa will win 2-1

Re: Villa home
Well my fears didn't come to fruition, partly due to Villa being very poor and saints did a good job nullifying Grealish. JWP played at RB, with Small Bone in midfield and Bedanek back in defence. A dominant performance in the first half with Smallbone hitting the post, glad to see him at least willing to shoot from outside the box, then Djenepo got down the left crossed with the outside of his right foot and Long bundled the ball in. Only question was really how saints didn't score more goals in the first half when so dominant, unfortunately Ings had a quiet game, maybe missing Redmond. Second half quite predictable as saints sat back a little but only real threat was Grealish winning free kicks. Adams had a goal bound shot blocked but right at the end saints broke from a corner with Reina up for the corner, most were expecting him to score would be so saints! Ball reached Adams who cleverly hit the ball into space and Armstrong running onto the ball placed first time into empty net, think Armstrong did well, didn't take a touch and placed into the far corner.
JWP did really well at RB, like against Zaha he was all over Grealish so while we miss him in midfield he does a decent job against teams that rely on one player. Long again worked his socks off, Obefemi needs to buck his ideas up juts doesn't seem to be fit, Stephens hada good game, he seems to like having Bednarek alongside him.
So opens up a 9 point gap to Villa, could have been just 3 if gone the other way so indeed a vital win. With Bournemouth and Newcastle losing, Brighton drawing so far a good weekend, now need West Ham and Watford to lose. If we can get a point at West Ham, beat Newcastle and a point at Norwich will be nearly there

Re: Villa home
Matty, you are correct, it has been a bit quiet on here.
A good result this one. Safety beckons.
