Matt Targett

We let Matt go to Fulham because we had an under achieving England international playing at left back.
Now he is starring for Fulham and gaining rave notices almost weekly.
When Shaw made the first team Matt was reckoned to be his equal by the coaching staff though Luke was better going forward.

For a defender that can't attack, put in good crosses or score he is doing a remarkable job at all three.

He loves Saints and should be playing for us not Fulham.

At last I have found my way back in.

And yes I know I have been saying for years that Matt Targett would be a long term player for us. Now some dummy at the club is ready to let him go.

Whether Targett will want to come back to Saints will surely depend on how this season finishes..... could be any of 4 situations next season:

Saints in Prem, Fulham in Champs..... good chance MT would come back
Saints and Fulham both in Prem..... not too sure, but maybe could depend on whether Bertrand wants to stay
Saints and Fulham both in Champs..... I've a feeling he would want to stay at Fulham
Fulham in Prem, Saints in Champs...... he'd definitely stay at Fulham
