Not sure, we ought to but the failure to really do anything in the transfer window other than Carillo will mean fans will be restless unless Reed pulls out a last minute deal. I am going for a draw, again. followed by protests and MP sacked, but of course to late in the day to bring in anyone new

Hopefully when I wake up in the morning Pellegrino will have been sacked, sorry after his team selection tonight for a must win game he has to go as his negative tactics, style of play is taking us down without even a fight. He started 1 up front, Long, and played Davis as an attacking midfield player just behind Long. So not only does he start probably our worst midfield player based on form but compounds the issue by playing him out of position. We had Lemina, Gabbadini, Carillo and Boufal all on the bench which meant 1 of them would not even get any game time, utter stupidity in a game we had to win and has to be the final straw. though Reeed the dithering old fool and Gao wanting to save a few quid may keep him so they don't have to pay any comp.

Should have been behind after 30 seconds, Hoedt falls over in a challenge and gives the ball away and an easy chance for a Brighton player who skies it over. That seemed to affect the team as we were dire, Stephens and Hoedt were a hopeless pairing not knowing where either one was and Hoedt actually made the case that we should stick with Yoshida. Brighton took the lead with a dubious penalty, another ball gifted to Brighton player seemed to have lost the ball but dived over Hoedt leg who was dumb enough to leave there, and 1 down. We had a few chances in the first half a clearance hit our player and rebounded onto the bar, so typical of us we had no one taking a chance and following up to knock in the rebound, Bertrand had a shot that just went over.

Second half and a miracle Pellegrino didn't wait until the 60th minute but brought on Boufal and Carillo. yet amazingly after a disastrous first half by Davis he leaves him on, takes of Romeau, Sheer and utter lunacy from the guy. Yes we were better second half but so many passes backwards, no pace in the side and Boufal was in a mood so would beat 3 players then try to beat them again. We did equalise when a free kick from Ward Prowse was sent in low and Stephens back heeled it to deflect into the corner. Stephens missed a good header, he really should do better in those positions. We huffed and puffed but always looked vulnerable though Brighton simply played for the point. Gabbadini came on for long towards the end but when he made a run no one saw and he looked a lonely and frustrated player. Maybe Austin and Carillo will be the combination, new guy couldn't be faulted for effort though not sure he looks any better than whet we already have and will need to work on his fitness as looked done in at the end.

I would take anyone now instead of Pellegrino, given chances but his team selection for this game was criminal, if he had gone for the win, tried and drew I would not have minded but he didn't, his negative approach is seen in how the team play, back to the goal, keep possession but don't worry if we go backwards and starting 1 striker is the final straw.

McCarthy 6 did okay, no chance for pen and came and caught a few high balls
Cedric 6 typical game but didn't seem as far forward tonight
Hoedt 4 made several mistakes, poor passing hate to say it but makes Yoshida look good.
Stephens 6 scored, should have scored with a header and did look like trying but his positional play will always let him down
Bertrand 5 always played within himself, seems arrogant that to good for the team but not sure why not captain.
Romeau 6 did nothing wrong so being subbed odd
Davis 3 did better ins second half when in central midfield but he slows the team down and always go backwards, think players know he shouldn't start
Hojberg 6 worked hard unlucky with his block
Tadic 6 did okay was fouled a few times not given by Cheat Dean, Wenger was 1005 right with his comments
Ward Proswe 6 workmanlike and a few decent crosses but also a few poor ones not clearing first defender
Long 6 worked hard but to be honest didn't look like scoring

Subs
Boufal 4 talented but no end product but played out wide instead on more central, gave up quite a bit clearly frustrated under MP
Carillo 6 worked hard best I can say
Gabbadini 4 MP has ruined him

Thanks Matty, utterly depressing.

I really don't understand why Lemina is not one of the first names to be put into the team each week. If Carillo was worn out after playing 45 minutes, maybe that's the reason he's on the bench?
