SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS Girls & Ladies FC - The Club
Hi everyone.
Id like to introduce you all to our club. As is mentioned in another post, we are, historically, one of the most succesful Ladies football clubs in the country. In fact weve only recently been surpassed by the current Arsenal ladies as the most succesful FA Cup winning team.
Its no secret that recently weve had a rather less than succesful few seasons which has seen us drop out of the WPL (Womens Premier League), currently playing in the 4th tier of the pyramid in the SRWFL (Southern Region Womens Football League). Things are on the up though. Both Ladies and reserves teams are performing well, both sitting strongly in their respective league tables.
I could bleat on about excuses as to how the alarming decline in the senior teams fortunes came about (but most people reading this will already have an opinion on a certain Mr Rupert Lowe). Instead I will highlight how and why it is now turning around now.
The two senior teams are largely made up of one group of players that have won everything they have challenged for, in the years they have been together. Add to this some experience and ex centre of excellence (academy) players and you can understand why the club finally have a senior section for the juniors to aspire to.
The junior section has always been succesful, being regular winners of Hampshire League and Cup honours at under 14 and under 16, as well as being founder members of the WDGFL ( Winchester & District Girls Football League), introducing young girls to mini soccer 6 a side football from under 10 and under 12 age groups.
I personally manage the current under 14 Hampshire League team and am pleased with how the season has gone so far. I have a great bunch of players in my squad and would expect them to be challenging for places in the senior teams within a few years.
There is ambition on this side of the footballing gender to get back to the top where we belong!

Re: SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS Girls & Ladies FC - The Club
Thank you very much for that and welcome to our little club. Seeing how well you are now doing could give the men a bit of hope for their team. You have been down and have begun the revival. We on here wish you and the girls good luck for the future. Good result Saturday I see against Launton. We don't know much about your girls yet and are hoping that more information can be gleaned from the papers and your website.
If we keep growing we will be able to open sections for the Saints Girls and Ladies Teams for their followers. As you may have noticed there is at least one of our female members wishing for more company. We are a friendly little forum and if some of your girls could join we would assure them of our respect. Questions might be asked but we try to run a family atmosphere as can be seen with three young girls already here.
It would be generous if you felt able to post on here to relate information about your teams' progress. I feel sure our leader will be in touch soon to thank you for contacting us. He is bound to have questions about the female teams and how they play, train etc. Your input is welcome and we hope to see you on here again soon.
Written with a lot of help by dad.

Re: SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS Girls & Ladies FC - The Club
I believe I am right in saying this is the team you manage? Would you like to tell us their names and a little about them? If any of them would like to register on here and introduce themselves, we would of course warmly welcome them. We had been discussing a website award for the Saints Player of the Season....but it seems to me that if we were to 'adopt' your team our members would be very interested in presenting an award to your Player of the Season too.
Re: SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS Girls & Ladies FC - The Club
The email I have sent to KickInEveryBall...
'I am absolutely delighted that you have registered on our forum and given such a detailed and informative message. You will see that I have added a photograph of your team with some comments and hope you have no objection to the picture being shown.
Perhaps you would let me know whether you think the idea mooted of a Forum Player of the Season award for the under-14s is appropriate?
I only saw your message a few minutes ago, and it is now 12:30am, so I do not propose to discuss your message any further at the moment, although I may contact you again if you have no objection. In the meantime I hope you may return to the forum and let any team members, trainers/managers or family and friends who may be interested know about us.
Best wishes,'

Cup Game Called Off
U14's | Fri 17th Oct 08

Fleet Town unable to play cup game due to underage players.
It has come to light that Fleet Town, who are an U13 team, would be ineligible to play in an U14 cup because they have U12 players in their squad.
Therefore, Saints get a bye into the next Round where we are due to meet Aldershot Town Juniors Youth at home on 16th November 2008.
