SOUTHAMPTON SAINTS....LADIES TEAM NEWS
Saints manager Adam Lee recently stated, "Of our first team squad of 16 players 13 of them are 18 or under and our reserve squad are all 16 and 17 year olds, so the future is looking very bright for us"

Quarter finals for Saints Ladies in Hampshire FA Challenge Cup
Saints Ladies progressed into the Hampshire FA Challenge Cup quarter finals with a hard earned away win over Aldershot Town Ladies FC.
Both teams started brightly and Saints knew they were in for a tough game as Aldershot were a well organised, strong footballing team. Saints settled into their rythym after about 15 mins playing Krystal Whyte in behind Aldershot`s full back on more than one occasion. Whyte was causing problems for Town`s defence down the right but Saints opener came from an exquisite ball from Rachel Snow, putting Taz Pardoe away down the left and she cut onto her right foot and drilled home.
The hosts were by no mean out of this game as they tried to forage forward but Saints back four marshalled by Rachel Wood came out on top time and time again leaving keeper Poulton little to do.
The visitors came close on several occasions with Emily Slater and Taz Pardoe firing wide or over.
HALF-TIME: 0-1
Within 15 mins of the re-start Saints doubled their lead when Pardoe`s striking partner Hannah Billingham found herself with the keeper to beat and made no mistake. Saints could have gone three up when Kirsty Parfett was through on goal only to put wide.
Aldershot responded well as Saints seemed to tire as the physical side of the game took it`s toll. The hosts pulled one back as they were awarded a free-kick 20 yards out and cooly put it just under Poulton`s cross bar. Town pushed forward sensing an equaliser and so nearly got it as Saints got themselves into a goal mouth skirmish but that was eventually cleared. Aldershot were awarded another free-kick in an identical spot from where they scored earlier but this time Poulton plucked the ball out of the air.
Pardoe was now causing problems for the Town`s left side as she turned one way and then the other sending several defenders dizzy and it was her pass that found Billingham who doubled her tally for the day lifting the ball over the home keeper to put Saints 3-1 up with only 10 mins left. Saints made their one and only change, bringing off Katie Slater who had along with her midfield partner Rachel Snow worked tirelessly the whole game and she was replaced by Laura Brander.
FULL-TIME: 1-3
