Not sure he has ruled out perhaps loan signings coming in and think if the right player becomes available, one they might want to sign longer term, Toby's injury is a concern as with Yoshida away now down to just Fonte and Gardos then youngsters with no experience

In third place at the end of January.....Saints have never had a better chance of a Champions League place, and probably won't get such a good chance again for years. I really think the club should try to strengthen now and have a real crack at it.

And while we are in this position, we should be able to attract a better quality player than we would otherwise.

Pity we can't do as I have on Football Manager......I've got Darren Blind bolstering our defence, and Sterling & Oxlade-Chamberlain have come in on loan. Getting some great results.

I agree we should look to strengthen if we can, my concerns are goalie, just one injury from a disaster as do not think Boruc is really an option and while I think Kelvin has been a great servant and okay to come on in a game think he is to old to be starting PL games now. Shame we didn't bring in Schwarzer who seems willing to sit on the bench.

Also with JRod and Gallagher unlikely to be seen much before the end of March if even then I would want a back up/partner for Pelle. A loan deal for a top striker who we may have to pay quite a bit to could well be a good investment if CL is the prize,

No news on Long but suspect he will be out for a few weeks, thankfully Mayuka is injured as well!
