Where are the signings?
I am starting to get a little bit concerned about the lack of movement in the transfer market, I know AP needed to asses the squad and I'm sure he wants to give players a chance to prove themselves, but it seems nothing is happening and while all is silent at St Mary's, clubs in and around us are moving in on the experienced players (Jaidi, Dailey, even Bent?).
I know there is talk of Mett Holland but even that has gone a bit quiet.
Also the backroom staff, surly AP would like to get a team around him?

Re: Where are the signings?
I think it works out the same if you was to do three or four peoples work at once....you would not get much done. I think that now the asst manager has been employed we should start to see some movement in the transfer market.
We do need a couple of players in ASAP

Re: Where are the signings?
A big strong no nonsence CB and striker with a tough tackling spitfire of a midfielder please. Striker will need 25 goals a season to bail us out and help us climb the table to safety. I say safety because we can't think about anything else until we have reached a relatively secure midtable position
Where are the signings
Agree with you re CB, striker and balll winning midfield, Get thsoe 3 in and think you will also see the younger players raise their game. They wont have to play week in week out and coiming on as subs their pace and energy can make a difference.
Wouldnt be surprised at a couple of loan signings from the higher leagues but that wont happen until towards end of Aug I'm afraid.
Think Wilkinson will know a couple of useful lower league players so have to wait and see what developes. Patience is a virtue but one I dont normally have!! Still keep reminding myself where we were a few weeks ago so once again many thanks to Markus

Re: Where are the signings?
Bloody awesome signature.
Jaidi should be a good addition to our dodgy defence.

Re: Where are the signings?
If Thomas is fit, or when, will he be ahead of Perry in the rankings. Chris has always tried his best but sometimes I felt he was not completely happy with his lot. He seemed to be perpetually making last ditch efforts to clear. Albeit sometimes because he was covering others failings. Still feel we need a big striker and midfielder.
Re: Where are the signings?
I'm hoping we get Murty and Jaidi signed up on Wenesday, otherwise I shall start getting concerned. It would be real nice to think we could have a new striker signed up to step straight in on Saturday too.....
I wonder if we are haggling over wages!

Re: Where are the signings?
I hope we are not going to miss out on signings because of haggling over a few pence in the pay packet. If the new people in charge seriously intend to get us back to the Premiership, surely we should be able to match terms being offered by at least Championship level clubs, although we are down in League One for now.
Otherwise it stands to reason decent players will be signing with Championship clubs who will pay more........and our only way out of this wretched league will be down.
Obviously we don't want to throw money away but now must be the time to speculate!!!!

Re: Where are the signings?
Murty in, and Jaidi next, that is a good start for the first time in a long time I think we might have a defence that can keep clean sheets.
Davis, Murty, Jaidi, Pery, Harding, that is not a bad backbone in league one. If we don't concede we won't lose which is a good start.
Raziak just needs to realise he could be something special this season at SMS, rather than on the bench in the championship and then we could really be marching.

Re: Where are the signings?
On Sky Sports....
Jaidi set for Saints switch
Experienced stopper could be heading to St Mary's
Free agent Radhi Jaidi looks set to join Southampton as reports suggest he has passed a medical at St Mary's.
The Tunisian centre-half is keen to get fixed up with a new club having left Birmingham City over the summer.
Jaidi played a significant role in the club's promotion last term but was informed by Blues boss Alex McLeish he would not be having his contract renewed at St Andrews.
Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has declared his interest in the experienced 33-year-old but it would appear Southampton have stolen a march on their League One rivals.
Saints boss Alan Pardew is keen to add experience to what is a talented but youthful squad of players and having landed former Reading captain Graeme Murty is keen to tie up another old head in Jaidi.

If fit I would prefer Thomas to Perry.

Thank heavens Pardew read what you said on here Mike, and took your advice by signing Lambert.
