FORECAST TIME......
Matty and Pete I hope you both read this.
I thought we might each, just for fun, make a prediction of the teams that will finish in 1 to 6 in the league this season (in correct order) and see who gets closest. Forecasts to be on here before Saints' next league game on 11th January.

Re: FORECAST TIME......
Well my mate will be happy if you are right Mike as he stands to win significant money if saints finish in top 3.

Re: FORECAST TIME......
With 8 games to go (9 left for Chelsea), the points tally now stands at.....
CHELSEA 67
MAN CITY 61
ARSENAL 60
MAN UNITED 59
LIVERPOOL 54
SAINTS 53
TOTTENHAM 53
SWANSEA 43
Surely Chelsea must win it.
Man City, Arsenal and Man United must be fighting over 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
5th, 6th and 7th must be between Liverpool, Saints and Spurs.
Anything else must be highly unlikely.........

Mike
would have to agree that Chelsea have the title in the bag, Arsenal, City and Utd are playing for 2 -4th though still think Liverpool could have a late run and not convinced by Utd. Think will be a battle between us and spurs re 6 and 7th and all down I think to our game at St Marys. Losing Forster though I think will be a massive blow as his presence, despite being stuck to the line, does seem to both inspire the defence and scare forwards.
I am praying for a Liverpool Arsenal cup final

Re: FORECAST TIME......
I think it will be tough for Liverpool to break into top 4. Like Saints, 5 of their 8 games are away.....and they have to travel to Chelsea and Arsenal. True, Man United themselves have some tough fixtures but I believe the 5 point cushion should be enough now to just about keep them in the top 4.
Re: FORECAST TIME......
After Swansea's shock win at Arsenal last night, the 10 point advantage we had over the Swans has quickly gone down to just 1 point. With 2 games to go, it is looking horribly likely that we are now about to slip to 8th. It's imperative that Saints beat Villa on Saturday.....and even that may not be enough.
Re: FORECAST TIME......
Yeah it's been a poor finish to the season. Time for some new blood I feel, plus injuries probably haven't helped. Selling Cork was also a bad move.

Re: FORECAST TIME......
Our transfer window policy has been poor for a few seasons, afraid Les Reed does not know how to use to our best advantage. He believes every deal then is a poor one so spend no money, end up with cheap loan deals of players rejected elsewhere that in turn convince them they were right. Yet we could have brought in a decent reserve keeper, a striker even if we had paid over the odds on salary for a few months, a small investment then could well have won us European Cup.
Plus the decision to sell Cork was always a poor one, for a few million, probably only a couple of you add in league position we could have finished. yes he was going to leave us but we didn't have to sell when we did. I remain unconvinced about Les Reed and his transfer activity, still think he is slow to act and has his own agenda, Cork was sold to ensure a place for Reed and JWP

Re: FORECAST TIME......
Well guaranteed 7th, with Swansea losing to city so down to last game and we need to go and win at City if we want to finish higher. Is possible and spurs are away to everton so can see them losing that so possibly a point might get us 6th spot. A win though and Liverpool only taking a point, away at Stoke and could be 5th. So although City will be tough something for us to play for and if the man U Arsenal game stays as is (1 - 0 to utd), City will be guaranteed 2nd spot regardless.
