Can Saints pick up where they left off and get 3 points at Villa .........please?

Not a great fan of Villa but that is more to Lamberts style, sit back and hit on the break and still smarting from our defeat last year at St Marys when they had 3 attacks and scored each time. Even though they are at home suspect they will adopt a similar style, think will end up a draw, which think most fans will be disappointed which shows how our expectations have risen.

Ron's team selection was a little strange.....I think I would have kept Mane or Long on the bench and given Harrison Reed a chance.

Too many of our better players were not playing at their best, hope Ron gets them sorted for Man City on Sunday.

You are right and I agree with you Pete......a few weeks ago I would have been happy with a draw away to Villa....the thing is that this season it's become easy to grow addicted to 3 points a game and I guess a lot of us are now desperate not to slip back to mid-table.

Sorry guys, was away for a few days in Cardiff. Agree think it was an odd team selection but I guess on the hope could get in front fairly quickly. I would have preferred Cork started and just don't think Mane, Long and Tadic with Pelle up front is that effective. the key to our success so far has been the sum of the parts not the individuals and think we need 3 hard working midfield players for our style to work. Also keeping Long or Mane on the bench gives us options later in the game.

still good news is everyone is now writing us of again based on one game on sky which suits me, looking forward to City game but must be stronger in centre of midfield to stop likes of Toure taking control
