Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
I think the Tino situation needs to be sorted right away then it will be clearer whether we will be able to retain most of the team. If Tino goes, then we will need an early appointment of a replacement to get involved in signings.
Sorry to say I think the delay is probably due to Tino waiting to see who makes him the best offer.

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
Rumours are doing the rounds (on Twitter, mainly) that Pochettino has signed a new contract and it will be announced shortly. The same rumours say that reporters are gathering at St. Marys, but people have also tweeted photos of a wet St. Mary's doing a good impression of the Marie Celeste (hopefully that actually means they are all inside rather than out in the rain!).

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
More rumours circulating, still no announcement from club, looks like spurs are waiting on outcome of European cup final as think they might get Anccelloti if Real lose, seems a long shot and MP in my view is beginning to look a bit of a mug waiting anxiously for the call from Levy which if it happens will be because others have turned the job down. Think MP has agreed to join them if they make a formal approach and Levy knows that just seeing if he can someone better.
also wonder if trying to force saints board into action so do not have to pay the £2m release clause, sort of tactic that cheap shot Levy would try and would think lack of commitment by MP must be grating with the board. If he had agreed the contract then would have been an announcement so looks like drags into next week.

Article in Telegraph says opposite that Spurs will approach club tomorrow and sign on Tuesday though some are saying has been an illegal approach already, which wouldn't be surprised, and why will be done by Tuesday

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
Unbelievable the amount of stories circulating but arguably saints board could have put these to bed if they knew what they were doing.
I think we are leadership at the moment, Katarina I think wants to keep the club but has brought in some people she hopes will run it, but has picked people with little experience. Kruger is not only out of his depth in never running a Football club but also seems to be out of country a lot, this is a full time job, Rodgers was the finance guy and we made CEO and then Reed, someone who has been in football for many years but for me never struck me anyone I trusted, very much a yes man for Cortese and "yes men" are crap when in charge.
Really don't know we didn't appoint John Williams when we had the chance, has run a football club and a saints fan to boot, doesn't need to be a saints fan but it helps. Sure Reed has something to do with that as knew his position would have been under threat.
Afraid the current board have little experience and will ruin what has been saints best squad for years.

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
Pochettino is in advanced talks with Spurs, according to the BBC. If it's on there, then he's as good as gone. The BBC don't post stuff without good reason.
Saints took Pochettino when he'd (to all intents and purposes) failed at Espanyol, helped him rebuild his reputation and what does he do? Potentially sods off at the first sign of a bigger club taking an interest. Why couldn't Spuds go for someone already out of work, instead of - yet again - poaching a Saints manager? The way this has been handled makes him no better than Hoddle was in 2001.

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
First game of the season will be us at home to spurs and Poch will find a different reception to what he had at end of season.
No other premiership club would have offered Pochitino a contract after having failed at Espanyol and hasnt even seen out his contract so assuming he does sign for spurs I really hope it goes wrong, so that other managers recognise the grass is not always greener.
Hope saints refuse spurs permission but doesn't appear to be the case, bunch of armature woosies in charge I am afraid and likely to be at least another 4 weeks before they get around to appointing a new manager

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
Trouble is, we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. It certainly looks incredibly amateurish from here, that Pochettino has been allowed to speak to Spurs (and if, not then that lot need to be done for tapping up).
There are rumours that de Boer is leaving Ajax. To paraphrase Kevin Keegan, I would love it, LOVE IT, if he came here while Pochettino went to Spurs, if for nothing else other than to piss Spurs fans off. Â

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
Of course it will never happen but maybe Hoddle coming back to St Marys would annoy Spurs fans. I think I heard de Boer is staying where he is. I have a horrible feeling we will end up with someone like Poyet.
One good thing though, I feel really strongly that we will get 3 points in our next game against Spurs.

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
We Saints fans are annoyed because Spurs are attempting to poach/have poached Pochettino. Yet, according to Twitter and the media, the club are trying to get McLaren from Derby and some fans want Eddie Howe from Bournemouth (no, ta). Double standards.
Even if Pochettino doesn't get the Spurs job, he'll be viewed as someone not 100% committed to Saints, certainly in the fans eyes. But I think it's pretty much a done deal.

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
well another great statement from Kruger, no doubt on a flashy Power Point presentation, showing just how out of his depth he is. Lots of words saying diddly squat. Is Ralph up to the job? No.

Adam Blackmore will be interviewing Krueger on Radio Solent after 5pm. I expect it will be available on Audioboo afterwards.
Talking of Audioboo, here's a discussion and phone-in from last night on Radio Solent, after news of Pochettino's resignation broke: https://audioboo.fm/boos/2202892-listen-to-last-night-s-27th-may-saintsfc-phone-in-following-mauricio-pochettino-s-departure#t=25m45s

Re: RALPH, ARE YOU UP TO THIS?
As Poch leaving has been on the cards for some time you would have thought would have had a short list ready just needing updating on day formally left. Not at all happy that Reed seems to be the main guy in this process. Hope they have told him if next manager fails he is gone as well, may focus his mind.
