Re: WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAINTS.....
Some good comments in the guardian bit
I said before game yesterday it looked like 4 2 4 not 4 4 2 as was being shown on the screen.
Saints should play a central 3 (Wanyama/Cork/Scheniederlin) Ramerez or Lallana not both linking and Osvaldo and Lambert up front.
Think most fans think letting Puncheon go on loan illogical.
He has to give Ramerez a run in the side to see if he can deliver or not, if not can off load in January.
No one mentioning what a great signing Lovren looks.

My, what a fantastic read....thanks for that Matty!!! (....and it seems Tino's English is fine now!)
Re: WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAINTS.....
Some 'expert' was saying on TalkSport just a few minutes ago that Saints have been punching above their weight this season, that our bubble is bursting now and that we will finish the season in the bottom half of the table, probably around 13th. I didn't catch his name.
I do so hope we can ram his words back down his throat....

Re: WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAINTS.....
Not sure about being an "elite" side but this summer will be a real test as not just who we bring in but who we keep. If we just lose Shaw say for £30m but spend wisely with the money and Katarina invests some more money in the GK, striker and CH dept we really could go and challenge the top 4, other key is keeping MP, the players clearly respond to him

Re: WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAINTS.....
An interesting post on the Echo website.....
In 45 years of following the Saints should have and could have regrettably marked our 'almost' high points…79 league cup…82 and 84 league title and 84 FA cup semi final..were all examples of being good enough but not quite enough belief and killer instinct…..76 was an anomoly in that we finally
won when we should not have.
However none of the above remotely compares with the overwhelming superiority we have displayed this season without gaining the maximum points….in 82 and 84 when we were good we were stunning but our off days were very poor…..this year I can think of 3 games were we were definately second best…2x Chelski and 1x Spurs (some will rightly debate that)
Norwich and Everton we were fully deserving of the draw other than that we were the best team in EVERY game by a hell of a margin United, Cteh, Sunderland x2 Arsenal, Newcastle, WHU, Stoke, should have seen 16 more points 16!!! never have I seen any team so good fail so spectacularly again and again and again not to capitalize…..
It is a factor that JRod is not clinical enough however many are half chances, we need a little more guile and speed then maybe just maybe...

Re: WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT SAINTS.....
I don't think it is quite as simple as blaming JRod! Yes we could have got more points but the style of play means both strikers are required to track back and press which gives us possession but they cannot be in 2 places at once. Also I was at both arsenal games and we may have been the better team at St Marys first half but second was even and at emirate we were not the best team, bit unlucky to lose maybe but we definitely didn't deserve to win. I am as biased as most saints fans but even games where we did win and won well, Fulham for example, without Boruc the result could have been different.
Do agree if we had a top class striker in the style of Suarez then we would be challenging for top 4 but a top 4 team would not have had to play Fox, or Hoovield or Guly.
