Southampton will open talks with Martin Demichelis, according to reports from Spain. The Argentine centre back has been released from his contract with Malaga, and fellow countryman and Saints' manager Mauricio Pochettino is now set to make an offer to the player.

Really odd this one , can only think Poch didn't rate him when he first saw him and hasn't changed his mind. In view of this suspect we will sign another CB, maybe an older, experienced one Poch knows. Hope so as certainly do not think Jos is good enough and would like some pressure on Yoshida and Fonte think Stephens probably needs some time loaned out to get match time.

Interestingly Forren's arrival was overshadowed by the Adkins same-day departure.......Forren's departure was overshadowed by Wanyama's same-day arrival!

Les Reed signed him. There's no confusion. Reed also signed Tadanari Lee & Mayuka. So no confusion!
Have heard that Poch demanded full control of targets when he took the job so Reed has reverted to scouting/ negotiations.

That wouldn't surprise me if true. Have never rated Reed and think he has only stayed as NC's "Mr yes man" but with a manager who seems a bit more assertive than Nigel hopefully he will have less of a say in the transfer committee.
