WIGAN AWAY
Great second-half display at Old Trafford......but I think how Saints perform at Wigan on Saturday will tell us much more about our chances of survival this season and how the team are going to play under the new manager.
Re: WIGAN AWAY
Key game for the rest of our season. Not sure what formation he will play, 2 up front as per Man u or Lambert up front with Ramerez in behind as against Everton. Will Lallana start or used from the bench? hopefully Shaw will be fit. Personally would go with Lambert and Ramerez and strat Davis on right and Puncheon left with Adam on the bench to bring on and change if needed as Wigan taught us a lesson about counter attack at St Marys.
ideally we will get 3 points but probably essential we don't lose so a point would be acceptable

Re: WIGAN AWAY
The team were always going to be well up for the Man United game.....now is the time Tino must show us that he can have them on top of their game for the bread and butter matches like Wigan.
I will be disappointed.....and worried.....if we pick up less than all 3 points.

Re: WIGAN AWAY

Re: WIGAN AWAY
All in all a very bad day for us with none of the bottom 7 teams losing......and wins for Reading, Newcastle and West Ham.
Re: WIGAN AWAY
yet another late goal conceded and no win despite playing well. Afraid doing no better than would have done under Adkins and shows again the arrogance of Cortese not bringing in players to improve the squad. No disrespect to Ward Prowse but he should be learning the game in the championship not in premiership when mistakes lead to goals. His lack of experience when he simply doesnt move up with the rest of defence to leave Mahoney on side at the far post. We could have made attempts to get Jenas or Sandros both only went on loan, plus other players arounds with experience but Cortese and Reed, the pair responsible for the wonderful transfer commitee will be the undoing of our stay in the premiership.
Said we needed 6 wins, that was from 17 games now 14 games and still need 6 wins. increases the pressure on the team which will show in nervy displays whenever we are in front. By the way Tino you can give Chaplow a chance, he is the sort of player you bring on with 5 minutes left when you want to close a game out.
Oh and how long does it take for Forren to get fit?? yet again we sign a player (just like Mayuka) and we dont see him for weeks! Smart move Cortese not like we are in any rush. Looking at Le Fondre at Reading any reason why we dont bring Sharp back at least on the bench as sure more chance he will score than Lee who has probably played no more than a handful of games at top level in last 12 months.
Relegation battle without a doubt, though sure Cortese would dismiss such thinking as stupid thoughts from morons who know nothing about football, in his mind we will be in Champions league shortly!

Re: WIGAN AWAY
Not only is Saints' defending suspect and the amount of points thrown away winning positions is stupid, but the amount of missed chances is also ludicrous. I know all teams miss chances but there have been several games where we could have been out of sight yet somehow contrive to waste each and every chance.
Reading are annoying me, too. Jammy bastards.

Re: WIGAN AWAY
All very well getting plaudits from other managers and fans but it is results that count and we have been missing some backbone and experience all season and we missed a great opportunity in the transfer window to put right.
I was hoping Pochettino would have got us right at the back first as if you dont concede goals you will win more games, simple.
