WE'VE BEEN TOGETHER NOW FOR 4 YEARS.....and it don't seem a day too much!

This forum was created 4 years ago today, 29th August 2008. Originally named Oh When The Saints, the name was changed by popular opinion to Southampton World some 15 weeks later on 15th December 2008.
Membership grew fairly quickly......250 on 28th June 2009, 500 on 3rd August 2009, 750 on 7th November 2110, 1000 on 4th June 2011 and stands today on 1314.

I am delighted (and proud) that some 23 former Saints players have registered on the website and approximately two-thirds of them have posted messages and partaken in question & answer sessions with fans. I don't think many (if any) of our 'competitors' can boast this. Our registered membership includes former stars Matt Le Tissier, Mike Channon, Terry Paine, John Sydenham, David Armstrong, Jimmy Melia, Steve Moran, Chris Marsden, Gerry Gurr, Paul Jones, Hughie Fisher etc., etc., etc.......

About the middle of last year we added the Star Bar / Sports Arena and famous personalities from the world of entertainment and other sports were encouraged to log in and answer questions from our members. Our membership list includes entertainers Zoe Ball, Annie Nightingale, Sinitta, Kenny Rogers, Merrill Osmond, Carol Vorderman, Chesney Hawkes, Samantha Mumba, Richard Arnold, Martin Kemp, Eamonn Holmes, Michael Barrymore, Tamzin Outhwaite, Belinda Carlisle, Ginnifer Goodwin, Bobby Ball, Kim Wilde, Holly Johnson and Amanda Holden.
Amongst the many sportsmen and women are Greg Rutherford, Christine Ohuruogo (Gold and Silver medallists in this year's Olympics), Dame Kelly Holmes, Katharine Merry, Linford Christie, Kriss Akabusi, Steve Backley, Karen Pickering, Martyn Rooney, Robin Cousins and Hampshire cricketer Shaun Udal.

When the forum was created Saints were in the Championship with Lowe in the chair and were still to suffer relegation to League 1, insolvency, 10 point deduction, takeover, changes in manager, and then to enjoy a trophy win, promotion to the Championship and promotion to the Premiership. A pretty busy 4 years!! Let's hope that, having reached the Premiership, the next 4 years can be stable and see Saints establish themselves as a force in the football world!!!
