Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
I'm anticipating a stuffing, to be honest. I am not looking forward to this one at all, and I just hope we can keep the scoreline respectable. Frankly, a point would be a great result. Luckily I am out all day and will miss it.

Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
I have to agree, dont see the defence strong enough not to concede a couple plus Tevez looks like lost a lot of weight and starting the season in form.
A defeat by the odd goal would be a good result.
Never know maybe can engender cup type spirit and turn into that type of game to even up, can work for a few games at the start of a season.
I would be over the (blue) moon if we got a point.

Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
I couldn't listen to, or watch, the game and where I was the mobile signal was intermittent, so I looked up the final score with more than a little trepidation. I can't say that I was at all disappointed to see that we'd lost because it was only 3-2. I'll take that. Reading the reports it sounded as if Saints took the game to City and were unlucky not to get something from the game, as a defensive error cost us a point.
Right, a couple of decent defenders and we are going to be just fine.
Pleased to see RL on the score sheet.

Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
Well did well 2nd half, outplayed first half and could have started Rickie but no points. Afraid Cortese needs to forget about his "headline" signing to stun the football world, and sign a couple of bloody centre halfs. Sure Adkins knows exactly what is required and must be fristrated. All the goals came from poor defending and we will lose to many games this year if we dont sort out the defence.
Lots of positives today but every fan said at the end of last season need the centre of defence strengthened yet over 3 months later and diddly squat done by Cortese and Reid who do all the transfers. If they think we will win games 5 - 4 every week in for a shock in the premiership as most teams have decent defences.
Wigan on Saturday, if Wigan play like they did in first 10 minutes against chelsea then should be a comfortable win, but if they play like last 80 minutes will be a much closer game than people might think. Moses was a threat down the flank, hopefully he goes this week!

Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
Good game although I thought we could easily have been beaten more heavily. Agree Matty that we need to strengthen in defence but considering the strength of the opposition I was quite pleasantly surprised with how the defence played today, thought Fonte in particular had a good game. The Saints player I was most disappointed in today was Rodriguez !
I am already nervous about the Wigan match. It worries me that some may see this as the least difficult of the opening games and may not be properly up for it. I desperately hope I am wrong but can see us getting well beat in this one...........

Pleased to see that Lambert is named in Sports Mole's Premiership Team of the Week.....
He may have only been on the pitch for 35 minutes but the frontman scored an excellent goal and looked a constant threat against Manchester City.

Re: HERE WE GO......MAN CITY ON SUNDAY
My problem with Fonte is for the first goal like so mant tiems he as got to close to his stirker who turns quickly into space and within a second has 2 -3 yards space, doesnt seem to have learnt.
As for Rodrigues have to say being played out of position, he needs to play a more central role and would like to see NA try 442 with rickie and Rodrigues for some of our games. I also see his season a learning process for Rodrigues on how to be the main striker.
right team selection should avoid any complacency plus the comeptition for places ought to keep everyone keen to impress.
