It would be interesting (and stupid of course) to field the under-18s on Saturday, for one thing it might make the first team decide they need to fight for their places after the Blackpool debacle........and it would also leave them fresh and free of injury for Monday.

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
Agree the sentiment but dont think a south coast derby is the place for most youngsters

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
Positive article in the Telegraph but if we do go up think will make tougher for youngsters to break through simply because of the need for instant results plus it will take time for the future stars to come through the ranks.

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
3 goals conceded maybe we dont have any decent defenders, at least Boruc got practice picking the ball out of the back of the net

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
Seem to be struggling a bit this season, both U 18 and U21. Then again do not think you can produce 3 -4 youngsters who make the top every season.

UNDER-21S CUP FINAL
Second leg of the under-21s final against Blackburn at St Mary's on Monday. Goalless after the first leg so hope the young Saints can win this. I see the match will be shown live on Sky.

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
I was working till late last night and sat down to watch my recording of the game around midnight. Unfortunately, I dozed off when it was still 0-0 and I have had to delete the recording as it took up a hell of a lot of space and I did not have room to keep it on my Sky box. Did you get to the game Matty?
(From what I did see of the game the young lad taking corners seemed good with them, we could do with a corner-taker like that in the first team.)

Re: WITH THE YOUNGSTERS....
I watched the Under-21s last night on BT, in their league match at Reading. A highly entertaining game, and well worth their 2-5 win. Bertrand played the first half but whether he is fit enough yet for a return to the first team. He was fortunate not to be sent off after just 5 minutes for a very rash tackle but the Ref let him off with a yellow.
I thought Ryan Seager (scorer of one of the goals), Harrison Reed (scorer of the first goal, but also guilty of an own goal), Jake Hesketh (scorer of 2 goals) and Josh Sims were particularly impressive.
The win puts the Under-21s top of their table.

Mike
good to see Bertand get a run out and the players you highlighted are ones who have had some first team action, hope a couple start against MK Dons
