Jos Hooiveld

When Jos Hooiveld was initially signed on loan I openly expressed dismay and wondered who the hell he was, thinking he was some kind of Celtic reject and would, therefore, be useless, having - as I thought - merely been bought in order to make up the numbers. This couldn't have been further from the truth and this point of view was wrong. Jos H has been immense and one of Saints best players this season. In fact, I'd vote for him as player of the season, along with Rickie Lambert.

Jos has no doubt been a good signing and clearly must have fallen out of favour at Celtic as you would have to question why he wasnt getting in their first team. Does have the odd lapse of concentration, Coventry away in cup, Ipswich goal at St Marys. What I think makes him such a good signing is his partnership with Fonte, individually not the best in the league but together a great partnership.

Apparently our promotion entitles Celtic to an additional £500,000 for the Jos sale.......

Just shows what with a decent manager and coaching staff how players can improve.. No doubt several of signings may have had this clause but you dont mind paying out the extra money when you realise what has been achieved
