I thought he was going to a championship club. Thinking might be sign a striker and play Guly out wide.

You do wonder what is going on as no reason to disbelieve other clubs. If no bid then presume waiting on news form other bids but would prefer NC gets his finger out and just get any deals done instead of being cute and waiting to the last minute.

Will be a sign of intent from club and looking at his style of play, similar to Barnard think it should be a good signing IF it happens

With the signings made this January (Chaplow, Guly, Lallana signing 4.5 year deal and N'Guessan coming in on loan) plus Mackail-Smith, if we get him, this would be a very good transfer window indeed. It'd be even better if Chamberlain stays. If Austin signed as well - which I don't see happening - it'd be like if Carlsberg made transfer windows... Shocked

Agree CMS signing would make a decent transfer window, think Chamberlain will go which takes a bit of gloss off but suspect another loan signing next week. Who knows if oxo goes to Man U perhaps they will loan us Rooney so he can try and rediscover his goal scoring.

Think Pboro have done like we have on oxo and said no unless a stupid bid and NC won't pay over the odds. Shame as think would have been a good signing much better than Forte

Gutted that CMS has signed for Brighton, amazed when QPRand Norwich were interested and makes you wonder what sort of salary has been offerred. Brighton Bent Boys against premiership? Makes a bit of a joke from Poyet moaning about other clubs last year about spending all this money.

With St Ledger signing for Leicster, Sharp not signing for whatever reason doesnt seem like we are offering top salary anymore and looks like we are struggling to attract top players to sign.

Fine to allow the academy youngsters to come through as long as they are good enough, problem a couple of years ago was the youngsters simply were not good enough and unrealistic to think we will have 3 or 4 premiership calibre academy players every year

I'm wondering the same thing, whether the club is struggling to attract players. Is it the bids? The salary offered? Adkins not being a 'big name manager'?

Maybe Saints didn't go for Mackail-Smith this time round. If the club did and he chose Brighton instead, then it'd be a bit worrying and more so if it weren't for the fact that Leicester and West Ham were also in for him.
