BOURNEMOUTH POST-MATCH REACTION

Couldnt go tonight due to work but mate text to say we weren't very good but doesnt matter as 2 - 0 win with goals by Lallana and Chamberlain, still dont know why the youngster was not brought on Saturday.

Hope this now kicks start the season.

First half was similar to saturday; not terrible but far too much aimless longball and a lack of composure from the players. Second half we came out really well and barely played a single long ball in the whole half. Pardew must have given a good team talk and the crowd appreciated the improvement and were very noisy throughout the second half making a real good atmosphere. Bournemouth were well organised and looked well coached but we had too much quality once we got going.

Butterfield 7 Very solid again
Fonte 9 Absolutely immense
Seaborne 6 Okay
Dickson 5 Had a pretty poor first half before being subbed
Oxlade-Chamberlin 6 Very quiet in the first half but improved in the second and made his goal and finished it off well
Hammond 7 Poor first half but was very good in the second half
Wotton 4 Crap
Lallana 8 Very good goal and was always positive going forward
Puncheon 8 Good performance after a poor one on saturday, creating a lot and making some good runs
Barnard 6 Worked hard but didn't get many breaks

Subs:
Harding 7 Tightened up the left side after he came on
Holmes 5 Don't think he touched the ball
Lambert 7 Very positive cameo at the end, helped to set up second goal

A dire first half, where I was worried we'd be turned over and Bournemouth were a lot better than Plymouth were, but the second was better. Still not convincing though. Chamberlain sounded good, I hope Saints have a little gem on their hands!
