LEEDS POST-MATCH REACTION Empty Re: LEEDS POST-MATCH REACTION

Well another great team performance and another great result at St Marys which is now becoming a bit of a fortress. In the first half it was same as against Huddersfield and Walsall with saints after a slow start running rampant with Lallana and Puncheon causing havoc, Puncheon in particular roasting the leeds full back. Otsomobor went off after about 20 min with what looked like hamstring. Saints pressure paid with regards the goal as first the centre half slashed a clearance just to get the ball away then another defender hacked the ball out for a throw on left which kept Harding up. From that ball went to puncheon on right in penalty box he cut the ball back was then played in the box and up popped Harding for a tap in from 3 yards out.

Should have been 2 up when Fonte was half strangled at a corner but ball went to Barnard who banged in only for W**ker walton to give a free kick to Leeds!!!! At least a penalty to saints or allow the goal to stand but Walton consistently showed what for most was an unhealthy bias to Leeds or against Saints, dont know if AP has upset him sometime.

Jaidi should have scored with a header then a goal mouth scramble where we had 3 chances to score then hit the post. Went in half time 1 up but should have been 2 or 3 and you always fear that will pay for the missed chances.

Second half was more of a battle for saints in controlling the game and while Leeds had posession the fact is Kelvin hardly had any shots to save, a testament to the defence and Jaidi and Fonte in particular. Think my only worry is Jaidi gave everything in this game and think he might struggle for Tues. Beckford did little all game, big disappointment and at least the rest of Leeds team gave their all, he didnt bother. Max Gradel came on with 10 min left and immediately shoved both hands in Harding's face , Walton incompetent to the end gives just a yellow card when had to be a red. Despite Walton and 5 mins of extra time saints remained in control for another 3 points at St Marys To big a gap to play offs but our form at home is top class and great to watch. just have to try and sort out the away form at crappy grounds.

Davies 7 bet he didnt expect such an easy game
Harding 8 got forward well and in the box for his goal
Jaidi 9 couldnt fault his defending to day even if he should have scored, absolutely immense
Fonte 9 with Jaidi kept the Leeds strike force in their pockets
Otsemobor 7 went off after 20 min didnt look good
Lallana 8 great first half kept battling in second
Hammond 8 another top performance
Schneiderlin 8 not quite as classy as against Huddersfield but good effort
Puncheon 8 great 1st half performance seemed run out of gas in second half
Lambert8 not a genuine threat at goal buy his link play was excellent but got no protection from Waltonl

Subs
Thomas 8 came on for Otsemobor and did a good job
Waigo 7 came on for Barnard and made some good runs and got one shot on goal
Barnard 7 worked really hard and again Walton seemed to have it in for him, fouled all day and got nothing.

Great performance, superb in the way we went at Leeds first half, very unlucky not to be leading by more than one.Second half when Leeds pushed us a bit more I thought we looked really solid, unusually I never at any time felt that Leeds were going to equalize.

I was away this weekend, but saw the result last night. It's an excellent result, and shows that we are getting there.

Reading through the forums, I can't believe that we had a ref actually worse than the incompetent f**kwit at Tranmere. What is it with the standard of refereeing this season? Even in the Prem, they're moronically useless, according to a Spurs-supporting friend of mine.

I do think standard is getting worse, watched Webb on MOTD and he was useless and supposed to be our ref at the World Cup!

Walton was absolutely dire, I couldnt believe how bad he was. You know some decisions will go your way and others dont but got virtually nothing. Beckford went down at least 3 times in first half looking for fouls which even walton couldnt give as blatant dive but never even give a warning.

If you go on the OS site you will see in the gallery great photos of the head lock on Fonte that Premier league ref Dip Stick Walton couldn't see despite standing 2 feet away!!!
