We are 23 games into the season with another 23 to go. Apart from our terrible slow start where we couldn't even buy a win, we are now on a roll and we are winning more than we are losing or drawing. As things stand, we look good for the playoffs, assuming the team keep this form going. And therein lies the rub, can the team keep this up, or will we fall short? The second half of the season is so important as regards the club's chances of going back up this season. A lot depends on, not only staying injury and ban-free, the January transfer window. If Pards makes some astute signings, both as direct replacements for people or for cover, then there's no reaon on Earth why this club should not be in the play offs come May.

What do you think?

Have to admit i didnt think you stood a chance earlier int season , , but now i'd be very surprised if you didnt get into the play-offs.

Must say too , despite our terrible home form , we still have a chance of the play-offs - as long as GS starts to get em playing.

Wee Gordon should be a good signing for you guys up there. As for us we have to be very careful as to who we bring in. We don't have much time for them to bed in. We desperately need a midfield player with strength and some passing ability and a defensive master.

Good point about any new signings needing to bed in, that is why dont think he will bring in to many but could be forced if he loses loan signings, Trotman in particular. Some additional signings are needed though if we are to maintain this run, a couple of injuries and we could struggle. Lallana makes every thing tick and think he would be sorely missed if he got injured.

Mellis has not impressed but arguably might get better as season goes on. AP will have to decide about a lot of fringe players and letting them go now or to hold onto until the end of season then have mass clearout.
Personally would like to see a defender, midfield and striker. Lee barnard at Southend might be available as they are strapped for cash. Shame we didnt go in earlier for Puncheon midfield player on loan from Plymouth to MK Dons but that comes back to delays in selling club to Markus.

Think we can make play offs but cant afford many slip ups and we have to catch 6 teams not just one so just have to be patient and pick them off one by one. If Norwich can make the automatic spot will be good for us as they are still the one team who I wouldnt want to play.

GS will do the business at Boro, just thought the timing was poor and would have unsettled the side with new manager coming in when he did, think they will finish season strong providing they have some physical players willing to get stuck in as afraid in Championship that is vital, we were like a school team against pub teams last year in some games.

I saw on the other site someone saying about getting Surman on loan. Obviously its pure speculation but I would be very happy to see him come back.

Colchester's Magnus Okuonghae could be one to go for if we are in the market for a centre back in January. He was unbeatable when we played Colchester at home and is something of a young Jaidi.
