Re: SOUTHEND ON FRIDAY
Not going as a Friday night and golfing all day tomorrow, please dont rain! Went to the game when in championship and pretty unimpressive ground. Still got my ticket for Orient so looking forward to that game.
Really difficult to predict a result for Friday, think we should be strong enough for at least a point and if Lambert and Papa can get chances then no reason why could not pick up all 3 points. Thomas was a bit rusty Tuesday but would like to see at RB. Presume Jaidi and Trotman will come back in at CBs, Lallana back, anyone know if Spiderman is fit?
Would expect Reading loan player to be on bench, wonder if Connollly is fit enough for bench.

Re: SOUTHEND ON FRIDAY
May be to early for Southend but a team is building.
Davis/Bart
Thomas/Murty, Jaidhi, Trotman, Harding
Papa, Hammond, Spiderman/Lallana, Mills/Holmes
Connelly, Lambert
We still have the likes of Mellis,Antonio and some youngsters who will benefit with the extra time we can give them.

Well, you'll have some company as I will be here.
I think we will win this one. We are on a bit of a roll at the moment, including the midweek come back in the JPT and I think we'll take the points.
With Connolly joining the club we have the best team in League One - on paper. The team now need to show that they are the best side on the pitch, not just on paper. The points deficit is history, now the new target is to get out of the relegation zone and go on from there.

I reckon AP will start Conolly on the bench and go for the same team as Gillingham but with Thomas in for James
Davis
Thomas Jaidi Trotman Harding
Wotton Hammond
Papa Mellis Lallana
Lambert
Subs: Bart, James, Perry, Schneiderlin, Holmes, Connolly, Saga

Re: SOUTHEND ON FRIDAY
Only change i would do to that lineup is move Mellis out left and put lallana inside. All 3 with a role to play attacking without I might add forgetting we have a goal to defend as well.
Re: SOUTHEND ON FRIDAY
Some team news I have shamelessly lifted off the BBC web site:
Not Dougie Freedman?! I hate that little bastard, he always scores against us!
Southend's leading scorer Lee Barnard (hip) is a concern after limping off in midweek against MK Dons.
Dougie Freedman is expected to replace him, midfielder Anthony Grant returns after a one-match ban but defender Jean-Yves M'Voto (hip) is doubtful.
Saints boss Alan Pardew could hand a debut to striker David Connolly after he signed on a free transfer.
Morgan Schneiderlin (groin) and Wayne Thomas (ankle) are fit but Jacob Mellis is away with England Under-20s.

Ref gone over to talk to official. Controversy and chaos reign.
The goal stands. Thanks god. For a minute I thought it was going to be retrospectively disallowed.
