BRISTOL ROVERS?
I have posted this on a Rovers Forum. It will be interesting to see if any of their supporters venture here.
Subject: HAVE WE MADE A GOOD BUY??
As a life-long Saints fan (now living in Scotland) I am delighted that Alan Pardew has signed a much-needed striker. Starting the season with a 10-point deficit, and a skeleton team something had to be done urgently.
Do you think Lambert will help us? Is he quality? Is he fit? Is he a fighter?
The folks on Southampton World would love to hear what you think at www.ohwhenthesaints.net
They are a friendly bunch and I promise you will get away unhurt!!

Re: BRISTOL ROVERS?
I think he's a great signing for you. Apparently Town tried to sign him in the summer, but they were concerned about his potential sell on value given that he'd be 30 at the end of a three year deal. Seems a bit daft to me, as he may have got them the goals to get promoted and established in mid-table in the Championship by then, but what do I know. If some of the young lads Clark has signed do the business, it'll be long forgotten.
Anyway, I hope he gets all his goals out of his system against Northampton tomorrow and dries up on Saturday! ;)

Re: BRISTOL ROVERS?
A reply on the Rovers' Forum and my response.....
gasheaduk says:
He's got a phenomenal strike on him, but he's not got any real pace and sometimes he goes missing in games. At this level he should continue to thrive but in the second tier he may get found out. But in saying that, you can't really argue with 29 goals can you?
SaintsMike replies:
A phenomenal strike = great
29 goals = wonderful
No real pace = no improvement on what we already have
Goes missing in games = something we're used to from some of our others and not something we want more of.
Oh well, guess we'll have to wait and see. Most of our regulars on Southampton World are optimistic about this so I hope he will do the business. If willing to talk about it with Saints fans please come to www.ohwhenthesaints.net
