Sky blue here
Hi there saints fans, had one of your members come onto our rivals site chatting about the upcoming match, told us about this place, so I figured I'd come check it out.
First of all, I'd like to thank you for the result a couple of weeks ago. We were desperately in need of some goals, and thankfully we found them. Seems like we've lost them again now though, so if you want to let us have a few more, feel free!
In all seriousness though, this time should be a much closer match, our squad is pretty small this year, particularly when you discount the totally useless ones, and we've picked up a few injuries over the last couple of weeks to some pretty key players. I think we'll be lucky if we escape with a point!
We're playing some decent football at the minute, but seem to be lacking any confidence in front of goal, with the vast majority of our goals so far this year coming from midfielders or defenders. add to that the fact that we are still without a right back (central midfielder playing there) have no width at all on the wings (have had mostly strikers playing on the wings so far this season, with the odd central midfielder filling in).
With the average ago of our team being 23/24 lately, we are lacking in experience, but have some great talent if we can hang on to them for a few years, we're going through some massive rebuilding, and seem to be fairly stable financially, so hopefully in a few years we'll be serious contenders for promotion.
I reckon this will be a fairly tight and low scoring game, with either a draw or a 1 goal margin either way! I'm just hoping it's CCFC's way! ;) Good luck with the rest of the season after our match, I have a bit of a soft spot for the saints, as my uncle is a saint, and my first football match was you guys against Sheffield Wednesday I think on boxing day maybe 16/17 years ago. Cracking match, they had a dubious penalty awarded, which was duly saved!

Re: Sky blue here
sfc forever: I think both teams are in need of a little generosity at the moment... draw maybe? :P
as for the rivals thing, I tend to lurk on there, and am far too lazy to post with any sort of regularity!
Thanks for the welcomes folks, have always found saints an agreeable bunch, and wish you good results all season except against us! :P

Re: Sky blue here
Hey guys, not the best match of the season. by all accounts the weather was terrible, and neither team showed any particular quality! Sounds like we certainly were missing a few of our players that were out, and you seem to be in all kinds of trouble at the minute! I hope you can sort it out, and hopfully you'll find a new buyer soon. We at Cov know all too well what it's like to be struggling financially, it takes a huge toll on the club as a whole!
well, now we've played you twice, I hope you win every game for the rest of the season! Good luck folks!

Re: Sky blue here
Ht in Birmingham v Coventry and I don't know how Coventry didn't get a penalty. Robbed.
Re: Sky blue here
FT and Coventry get eserved win 1 - 0. Westwood made some fantastic saves but sky blues should have been out of sight. Still can't believe penalty not given in first half. Birmingham didn't start playing until last quarter of the game. So if you read this Chrisinaus good result.

Sorry, only just seen this post.
Yeah, it was a great match, once again characterised by the lack of clinical finishing by our strikers. The match should've been finished long before they finally started playing in the last 20 minutes!
Still not quite sure if their defender was trying to give Clinton a cuddle, or rugby tackle him... either way, it was a blatant penalty! Yet another terrible decision given against us this year! If you look on the highlights, you can clearly see Chris Coleman after the incident mouthing to himself "every f'ing week!!! every f'ing week"
Incredible perfrmance by Kieran Westwood, he once again keeps us in a match! I was impressed with him when I saw him earlier in the year when I was back in the UK, but after that performance, I firmly believe he's by far the best keeper outside the prem! We'll no doubt have to work hard to keep him in January once the transfer window opens! the shot he blocked which then rebounded between his legs showed fantastic reactions! Regardless of the debate about whether it crossed the line fully or not, I doubt many keepers would've reacted quickly enough to force the debate at all!
Coleman is putting a solid capable squad together, without spending ridiculous money. Hopefully we'll be hanging around the top 10 by the time the window opens in Jan, and we can bring in a couple of players in weak areas to help us push on for top 6!

Re: Sky blue here
Good post Chris and yes it was best display I've seen this year. Though Davis has done well for us week in and week out. Funnily enough Priskin(//) of Watford could have been sent off before he started scoring against us last month. Some teams seem to get the rub and some don't.
