The deal to save the club has been signed.

Over recent weeks the rumour mill has been going into overdrive regarding the situation of the sale of Southampton Football Club, this site has tried to be rational about the situation and not rely on trying to stir up rumour mongering.

Tonight we recieved the call to confirm that the paperwork had been signed this evening and that the confirmation that the deal had been done would be made public in the morning.

This is the news short and simple, forget internet gossip, forget a media trying to forge headlines where none exist, just take those two words "Deal Done"

Every Saints fan should thank the new Swiss owner Markus Liebherr for saving our club and afford him the welcome he deserves.

Now is the time though to stop digging and prying, Liebherr is a private man and hasnt bought Saints to be bombarded by e mails and phone calls to his companies, it should be enough that the Club is saved and can now look to the future with something approaching optimism, perhaps for the first time in five years

Now is the time for unity amongst the supporters and now is the time to finally put the past behind us and look to the future, if we are to succeed in that future we all need to take a look at the real meaning of the word supporter and learn, learn that out football club nearly went under and would have done so, if not for the intervention of a man called Markus Liebherr, if he can put his money into Southampton FC then we allhave to show him we are grateful by giving him and the club all the support that we can.

I for one will be sitting back tonight with a can of beer and having a quiet Yodel !

Don't know about the yodel but the beer bit sounds quite good.

What a relief! Markus seems to tick all the right boxes, FL have confirmed no more points deduction, RL gone forever so fans can unite, I might get more work done rather than searching websites for news, season tickets should sell out - all good!
