SAINT JASON....

Recently there have been verrrrry strong rumours that Jason Euell was unhappy with his lot at Southampton and wanted to be away from St. Mary's.

However, he was the man of the match in Saints' 3-0 win at Ipswich on Monday and coach Mark Wotte had nothing but praise for his player.

Does this mean that Euell has rekindled his loyalty to Southampton....or is he merely trying to attract the attention of other clubs?

Time will tell..........

Today...

ARE THE BOYS MAN ENOUGH?

Good wins against Preston, Cardiff and Ipswich....and then defeat by the only goal of the game at Birmingham.

Have Saints' youngsters the resolve to shrug off the defeat and get immediately back to winning ways or will there be a backlash from the Birmingham match?

Tonight's clash with Derby County at St Mary's should tell us a lot about the team's character.....

COME ON YOU SAINTS!!!!

FEBRUARY PLAYER OF THE MONTH RESULT

Voting has now ended for the Forum's Player of the month and after an extremely close contest, SAGANOWSKI came out on top....just 2 votes ahead of SAIEJS.

SAIEJS was the unanimous winner of the Defender of the Month Poll and SAGA won the Striker of the Month Poll without competition.

The voting for Midfielder of the Month was neck and neck, resulting in a win for GILLETT, who finished just a single vote ahead of both SURMAN and WOTTON.

SAINTS HERO REACHES SEVENTY

Terence Lionel Paine was born in Winchester on 23rd March 1939 and worked as a coachbuilder at Eastleigh's British Rail depot before Ted Bates spotted his potential and signed him when 17 years old. He had been playing for Winchester and had had trials at Portsmouth and Arsenal before Mr Bates completed the signing.

Terry established himself as a first-team regular within the space of just a few games and the rest, as they say, is history....

At the age of just 22 he became team captain and he went on to make a staggering total of 815 appearances for the club and scored 187 goals. He also won 19 full England caps.

On the occasion of Terry's 70th birthday, Southampton World would like to express appreciation of the dedication and loyalty he showed the club and the magnificent entertainment he provided. Terry Paine will always remain the writer's number 1 footballing hero.

TERRY, YOUR BOOTS WILL NEVER BE FILLED!!!
