Saints fans baiting each other? Empty Saints fans baiting each other?

Post  Perennial Underachiever Sun 21 Dec 2008, 2:47 pm

I was reading on SW that ST holders were waving their tickets in the air and baiting other Saints fans with chants along the lines of 'you're only here for United' (never mind that Nottingham Forest were the opposition).
If true then that is absolutely pathetic and childish imo. We're all fans of the same team. Are other teams fans as divided and fractious as our lot? I doubt it and, frankly, all this 'super fan' garbage is getting on my nerves. I know the club is in a complete and utter mess at the moment but all this squabbling, pettiness and 'I am a better fan than you' crap won't help that's for sure.

I get the feeling that, in part, it's a lot to do with the ST holders being miffed that they have chucked several hundred quid down the pan as much as anything else.

Perennial I was at the game and believe me it is true. To be perfectly honest the whole 9 yards was the worst experience that I have ever had at a football ground. Trust me I have seen a few games. The stewards in our section were going out of their way to cause bad feeling in the crowd. I know we are not allowed to stand but there are ways to react and there are ways to react. Blatant bullying because he was wearing a uniform didn't endear the moron who was nearly the cause of a riot. I was so disgusted that I went with my son to get some halftime snacks nearly ten minutes early. I missed the first goal and when I returned to my seat the atmosphere had changed for the worse. The second half passed and we left early in dispair.
Today I am feeling better albeit still worried by our prospects in the foreseeable future. Another day like yesterday and I am worried that I would have to stop taking my kids to the games. The club is in ruins and I don't have an answer to the problem. Other than watch the club I love implode. We are near the end and I just hope that somewhere there is someone ready and waiting in the wings to pick up the pieces.
I love my club and always will but I am not happy.

We are unable to match the power that most championship teams have. We may have more skill but in this league we need muscle to protect the skill.
