loss of Redmond will be a blow plus Djenepo also injured. Shame really as don't think Utd are that good either. Hoping we can pick up a point, 1 - 1, certainly don't see us having 3 clean sheets in a row.

will add a match report later but out most of today. decent result and a reasonable performance especially when down to 10 men. The 1- 1 prediction was one I thought we could get as this Man U side is not that good, especially when compared to the likes of City and Liverpool particularly when it comes to strikers. Positives were Vestergard and Bedanek looked better as a pairing, Danso has some promise but needs to take out the rash challenges, Boufal did okay so will be useful squad player, though needs to get his head up to see whats around him and Romeo back to his best. Not so goods were Hojberg was poor again, plenty of energy but gave the ball away cheaply, Adams is struggling particularly at scoring. JWP was a lightweight and struggles in a midfield of three, if you look at their goal he jogs back from the middle of the park, realises the danger to late, then sprints but arrives to late. Cedric could have done better but Mata made a run down the outside so had two to deal with, was often the case in the game, Boufal did get back and help Danso but Cedric was often left without support.

Gunn 7
Danso 6
Vestergard 7
Bedanek 6
Cedric 6
Ward Prowse 6
Hojberg 6
Romeau 7
Adams 5
Boufal 6
Ings 5

Subs
Armstrong 5
Long 5
Yoshida 6

Bright start saw saints create a good chance with Adams playing a good ball to Boufal who shot from outside the box but his shot just went wide of the post. Then a break down the left from Utd in their first real attack saw James given all the time to cut inside and an excellent finish gave Gunn no chance, that knocked Saints back and Utd had a couple of chances, a missed header at the far post when Danso lost his man and another chance when they failed to hit the target. Boufal was playing well but still likes to beat another player rather than cross the ball. Hojburg was off the pace and gave the ball away a fair bit, Danso made some decent runs down the flank and showed a player with potential if a bit raw. Got booked by an innocuous tackle, the clown Dean making numerous wrong decisions, and surprise, surprise all in Utds favour. What it did do was fire up the crowd and saints finished the half strongly.

Saints continued in second half and Adams had a great chance to open his account when out in when about 6 yards out wide of the right post but went for power and blasted high and wide. Boufal then won a corner and Ings had a good header well saved by De Gea but his save only went to Danso who dinked the ball back into the box and Vestergard rised above the defender to head past de Gea. Saints had the momentum but then lost that when Utd had a break away and Danso lunged in, think he just took the ball with his front leg but his back leg wrapped around the striker and no complaints about the yellow which meant a red. Clearly a talent but he needs to learn to calm down a little, think he could be a beast in midfield where we could do with his presence.

Obviously came under pressure, Yoshida came on and went at Left back and did what was required and brought some calmness. Long was disappointing in didn't chase down as much as you would expect and gave the ball away needlessly which set up Utd for a good chance but Gunn was in good form. 4 minutes of extra time disrupted by Cedric picking up an injury following a block where he got kicked. Ashley Young showed just why disliked by many as kept trying to pull him up even though an obvious injury, Dean at least did book him as he refused to go away, unfortunately didn't see Young spit as he walked away which was even more dissent from a petulant has been.

So a good point when down to 10 men for last 20 minutes, Utd are a poor side though and will struggle for top 6. Everyone going on about James who scored a good goal but his crossing in second half was poor and miskicked on a few occasions when well placed. Definitely got potential but think that shows how poor rest of the Utd team are. International break comes at a good time hopefully get Bertrand, Redmond and Djenepo fit, loaned out Carillo, Hoedt, Elyouise, Foster and Lemina so no more distractions in the squad.
