I wonder if RH will go back to choosing his best 11 for this one......would be embarrassing not to win.

I am hoping he made his point at West Ham and will want to finish on a high. So start Gunn, play Bertrand in a back 3 with Stephens and Bedanek with Targett and Valery wing backs. Midfield 3 of Romeo, Hojberg and Ward Prowse with Redmond and Ings/Long up front, I would start Long and bring Ings on after 60 minutes, just so he could actually be on the pitch at the end of a game.

Would prefer not to see Elounyishi, Forster or Austin on the bench give a young player that chance but suspect they will be.

Think should be an attacking game, nothing to play for other than pride, Huddersfield didn't look at that good when defending last week, though neither did we so going for a 4 - 2 Saints win.

Are Vestergaard and Yoshida still out? Or do you think Stephens deserves a chance before them?

I pretty well agree with your comments but would quite like to see Sims given another game.

Oh dear......cost the club a couple of million in prize money as a win would have put Saints above Burnley

Well a disappointing end to the season, cannot blame RH in played 3 up front to go for it but as often happens 3 up front doesn't work, no midfield to provide the supply and with 4 at the back the full backs do not get forward. Plus for us it also means nothing on the bench to change it. Decent start with Redmond being a constant thorn and Long was winning the long balls but just didn't have enough people forward, Valery rarely got forward all game, Ings rarely looked like scoring and Hojberg was making to many errors in midfield losing the ball when we were in promising positions.

Ward Prowse was played in and got a shot away but blocked for a corner, then Ward Prowse had a great chance but passed to Ings as there seemed a game plan to try and set up Ings but chance was lost. Saints took the lead close to half time when Redmond picked the ball up on left, cut inside on the edge of the box and fired an excellent shot that dipped just under the bar, Saints changed formation at half time with Targett coming on at left back and allowing 5 at the back at the expense of Long , which was a bit harsh for Long, would have been better taking off Ings. Though I would have taken of Valery, played Targett at LB and Bertrand at RB, then later taken off Ings for an additional wide player Simms or Armstrong. Saints were never under any real pressure and gave away with a blunder by Gunn, playing the ball around at the back, failed to control the ball and gave an easy chance to Huddersfield to equalize.

Brought on Austin for Ings but I am not sure why we gave Austin any more pitch time, though they may have wanted to rest the youngsters who had the U23 Play off Final on Monday (they won so in for a hard time next season). Austin had one chance at the end when his shot went just wide and with it a couple of million. Again highlights the work needed to be done for next season at least 1 quality CH, 1 decent striker who can score goals, a RB so Valery can have some competition and ideally an enforcer type midfield player (Wanyama style)

Gunn 5 interesting with Forster his competition hasn't looked quite so good, keep McCarthy and the two can battle out next season
Bertrand 6 bit better than at WHam but still looked like he had his beachwear under his kit.
Stephens 6 a bit dodgy at the start but actually made some decent tackles in the second half but opposition were pretty poor
Bedanek 6 does the simple things well but still room for improvement
Valery 4 not sure if carry an injury but followed up his poor WHam performance with another poor game, rarely got forward when he did didn't rush back.
Ward Prowse 6 normal work rate you would expect, needs to be more clinical when he has scoring opportunity but a good second half to the season
Hojberg 5 not one of his better games, lost the ball quite a bit in midfield
Romeau 6 won plenty of tackles, surprised he was subbed for Simms late on.
Ings 5 didn't really look like scoring, again
Long 6 usual hard graft, shame he couldn't finish the season with another goal.

Subs
Targett 5 didn't do an awful lot but the whole team didn't perform
Austin 5 at least he waved goodbye on the walkaround at the end so looks like he is off so good luck to the guy but not a PL player
Simms 5 didn't have long and didn't do much
