CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
After a decent result on Saturday, can Saints grab the 3 points to make their league position look healthier?
Re: CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
very hard to predict, our lack of goals will hurt us, could do with the midfield stepping up with a couple but that is highly unlikely. Going for a draw 0 - 0.

Three points would appear vital at this point in time.
Happy New Year to you blokes as well. Sorry about the Ashes also (I don't really mean that last bit).

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
But the Aussies will get thrashed when they come over here and the ball starts swinging with the seam, 4 -1 England in the return series Pete and my predictions have been pretty good to date.
Mind you when England have James Vince in the team wasn't expecting very much to be honest
Happy New Year Pete and Mike

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
Almost to depressing to say anything, easily in control first half, Pellegrino gives them all his motivational half time talk and we play absolute garbage second half cant pass to our own players and just negative. Another game like Huddersfield, Burnley, Brighton etc where obvious have lost control, Pellegrino refuses to make a substitution before 60 minute unless injured and we lose a game that was easily winnable.
The guy is totally out of his depth, unable to organise a team or motivate players, he cannot see the basics so wont matter who, if, we sign anyone he will still fail. With Romeau, Lemina and Hojberg we should have a really strong midfield but because he has no idea he is unable to play them.
May add some player scores tomorrow the only thing more depressing than watching Saints at the moment is listening to the clown Kruger what utter tripe he speaks, poor old Mr Gao has been completely conned, as have the fans

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
I agree its all terribly depressing....... the players don't even seem capable of passing to a member of their own team. Even if Saints splash out a lot of money on a top player or two I can't really see it improving the team as a whole!!
As one of the comments on an Echo post said, most of Saints players were bought for their flair and quality of style and are not cut out for a relegation dogfight. Not that we are seeing much flair or quality at the moment....

Re: CRYSTAL PALACE AT ST MARYS
Its about style and approach which with Pellegrino is to soft and indecisive. Decent players have regressed but can play much better with a manger who knows what he wants, plays to individual strengths and is not afraid to both attack and rocket the players. His mannerisms on the touchline are very defeatist and it does seem that most players ignore him, they would not have dared ignore Koeman.
I am sure he is a nice guy but I don't want a nice guy, I want someone strong enough to put Reed and Kruger in their place, away from the players, and get on with signing players to improve the squad not the bank balance. I cant imagine Walcott is anything other than a Les Reed desire where he will come out with all the old rubbish of ambition etc, the club simply doesn't have any. It turned out to be a nice investment adventure for Katarina who has sold us down the river to a guy who I think has no money to invest and will soon be looking to minimise his losses by taking out the cash.
It also seems Kruger and Reed are more worried about trips to China and getting involved in the Chinese market, fatal error as it is the core business that is in serious trouble
