AWAY TO LEICESTER
With Leicester gunning for the title this is going to be hard. Any chance of a good result?
Re: AWAY TO LEICESTER
Well disappointing result not least because we were the better side. Often said that the small clubs do not get the breaks the big clubs do but in Leicester 's case they are getting plenty of breaks. We started slowly but aside from some corners they didn't really threaten and saints eventually got into the game. Took us 20 minutes for our first attempt, a flicked header from Pelle that went over the bar but sparked more attacks. Fonte had a shot just over, as did Classie. Then probably the pivotal point in the game, Mane got free down the middle took the ball past schmeichel, then shot but Simpson got his body in the way to block. For me, and Koemans, has to be a penalty. Not a question of ball to player but player clearly made move to block and his arm deflected ball from obvious goal. Another example of the increasingly poor refereeing standard and refs simply bottling the big decisions. Not long after the only goal scored break down our right, ball played in and Morgan got his head to the ball to give Forster no chance.
Still time for Vardy to show the ugly side he has, went in on a tackle with studs showing and lucky he did not make contact. Fonte was fuming and spoke with ref at half time but Wanyama would have been sent off for the same challenge.
Saints went to 4 at the back with Targett making way for Tadic, to early for me we had played well after a slow start and Targett had given us width, Tadic did win a few free kicks but same old problem of him not shooting.. Lots of crosses but Pelle was never going to get the better of Huth. Another penalty call when Huth handled in box a cross from Austin, guess no ref wants to be in charge when the " dream" is shattered. Saints were leaving themselves at the back, Fonte got his head to a cross but was looping into goal when Forster arched back to make a great save. Then when we were pulled open he made a great block. What'd prowess came on but struggled with pace of game and Cedric who had a good first half put in some poor crosses and we ended up with Mane, Pelle, Austin and Tadic on pitch but disappointing Jordan didn't get on, Mane was poor again and I would be quite happy if we sold for decent money but will be surprised if we get any decent bids.
Forster 8 no fault for goal and a couple of world class saves
Cedric 6 good first half not second
Virgil 7 another strong performance
Fonte 7 a number of good blocks and own goal would have been unlucky.
Bertrand 7 did well in back 5
Davis 6 lots of energy but no goal threat
Wanyama 7 won lots of tackles
Classie 6 works hard not quite as effective
Mane 5 should have scored and doesn't seem interested, lucky to start with Austin and rod on bench
Pelle 5 didn't really look like scoring
Subs Tadic 5 some neat flicks but wasted opportunities when he got in the box
Ward prowes 5 got caught in possession a number of times set piece delivery poor for once
Austin 6 didn't have many chances but I would have removed Pelle to give him more space

Re: AWAY TO LEICESTER
Thanks Matty. From the Sky coverage that I watched I have no disagreement with you there.
