RESULTS PREDICTION LEAGUE

Nice to see a couple of our older visitors posting on here, and i do not want to close up shop if we can sustain some interest Thought we could start a couple of Prediction Leagues.

On this post forecast the score of each Saints' League game. Get the result right (win, lose or draw) and you score 1 point. Get the score right and you get 3 points.

Forecasts must be posted before kick-off.

On another thread Matty said he was thinking Saints could beat Norwich 2-0. I'll take that as your forecast Matty........but you are welcome to change it any time before kick-off.

This means that if Saints win 2-0 you will get 3 points Matty, or if Saints should win by a different score you will get 1 point.

I have pretty good vibes about this game and I go for a 3-0 Saints win.

3-0 saints. Koeman will have said his stuff, Mane and Wanyama will be ready to fire on all cylinders knowing they are going nowhere. Steklenberg will have watched Tim Howard and learnt some stuff. Maybe even Steve Davis and JWP will have practiced crossing a ball and dead ball shooting. Pelle will find team mates in red and white stripes with his nod downs. More than anything the whole team may have practiced passing forwards, with pace and accuracy, find space and move into it. When I was 12 my manager insisted I learnt a few basic rules.
1. Keep the ball for as long you can from the opposition
2. When you have the ball, pass it forward to a team mate
3. Play a one two to beat an opponent
4. Shoot between the sticks as often as possible
5. Support your team mates
6. Be ruthless but fair, don't cheat
7. When you are not in possession of the football, make every effort to win it back, collectively.
Needless to say I never listened to my manager either. Turn over a new leaf Saints and play this very simple game to win.

Sound advice will be interesting to see if the players do the simple thongs right. Pelle is great when he does that but often wants to over complicate with acute flick which results in us losing possession. Still hoping for a saints win even though Wanyama not in squad. Still don't think we should sell him as no time to replace. Once transfer window is over he can be told play and impress to get a top 4 club interested while we line up a replacement. Alternatively play U21 football for 2 years and see who wants you then time for the board to spell out to players we expect them to honour their contracts.

We were excellent today, the crowd were happy because everyone tried their hardest, as fans we cannot ask for more. Good 3 points and a great 3 goals

Matty07. Damn right if players want out, plat 'em in the U21 until they get their head right and if they start messing about and disrupting the U21 make em train alone.

Wanyama wants to leave. I wonder if it is anything to with us getting rid of Mayuka?
Maybe it's because he can double his wages and not work so hard or play so much playing for a bigger club.
In all fairness to 'The Beast' he is class player and I hope he gets his head right and performs like he did last season

I have always liked Wanyama as he normally puts in a shift and breaks up play so well so disappointing the way he has behaved lately. I just don't get the attraction to spurs other than money, think this season they will be lucky to be top 6 and if that happens then it will be Poch

Going for a 1 - 1 draw. Main logic being won 1 nil two seasons ago, lost 1 nil last year! Looking forward to going to the pub which has an Indian barbeque🍗

Seeing as its against Pulis and we normally struggle to beat his teams, I'd almost say a draw would be a good result.
However, WBA do seem to be struggling to score at all this season whilst most of our players might be gee'd up from their International exploits.

So I'll get it wildly wrong and go for a 0-1 to Saints!

In fact, seeing as I have been so critical of him, I will even go so far as to predict a goal for JWP. No doubt most of West Brom will be on instructions to break Mane's legs if they get the opportunity and there will be tiresome pulling about of Pelle, so someone else will have to step up with the goal.. from somewhere?!?

That mean you are predicting JWP as scorer for our scorer prediction league??

0 0 half time and at lease saints have looked solid. Not many chances for either side but saints had best chance with a header from j rod which just went past the post following a decent cross from Tadic. Jrod also had a shot saved but no real power. No major scares at back aside from what I thought was a penalty when targett got caught out and trying to recover slid in and certainly did not play the ball. Assume ref felt a dive over his leg but no booking. Atwell is ref and quite poor at start soares pushed over blatant push 5 yards in front of him yet plays on allowing WBA attack.

Wantam started, sluggish to begin with but got better as half went on. Virgil looks a class player impressive
